From dimebag:
"With Mo Williams (who looked like John Legend sitting on the bench) out for the next four to six weeks, the Cavs are going to have to make a move to stay competitive. There is already one rumor circulating that the Cavs could be looking at a trade for Nate Robinson. Donnie Walsh has made himself clear that the Knicks will only make a deal if they can include the salaries of either Jared Jeffries or Eddy Curry, so if the Cavs are willing to take on one of the two, they could get Nate ".

Now I will be ecstatic if this happens, but I doubt Danny Ferry is this gullible. Help the Knicks create cap space so they can sign his best player away from him? He better have another job lined up if this trade goes down.

Ha, I was thinking that as I read the title. How funny would it be if the Cavs help us clear cap space for Lebron this summer. File this under '****ing crazy'.

Never gonna happen. Although if he traded for Nate it doesn't affect the situation much at all, IMO. We already have the space to sign one FA. We can't offer more to LBJ no matter what and if we traded Nate to Cleveland wouldn't that give LBJ more incentive to stay since he supposedly loves Nate?

Wonder if Nate and Curry for Ilgauskis works......

I think the opposite is true: How could Walsh give Cleveland the talent to get over the hump and win Lebron a ring, thus giving Lebron another reason to stay in Cleveland?

We can slam JJ all we want - he could be, as he was when he was with Washington, a impact player in the play offs.

Nate is not a "talent", he is a "plot" to deny LeBron championsheep this year...

I don't see a trade working unless the Cavs wanted to dump Z.

These Nate rumors are more than likely old news from back when he wasn't playing.

I can't think of trading Nate unless we get to dump FishLips at the same time.

As Ira said...unless it's Big Z's big expiring for Nate and our 2011 trash - what's the point?

Even the Celtic trade suggesting a late 1st rounder comes back in the deal is pointless. We have plenty of bench players on this team. We don't need another one on guaranteed salary at that.

um, if you don't think donnie is trying to unload Nate to a contending team with the price tag being jeffries 2011 salary... i don't know what to say.

and getting a 2010 first round pick for nate would be pretty good, too, because it allows the team to add a first round talent whose deal doesn't have a cap hold until we sign it - aka they can wait to sign the draft pick until well after free agency settles down sometime in august.

there are lots of good reasons to trade nate - donnie just has to decide if he wants to KO the playoff chances.

We really don't need a pick in any deal. I agree with holding onto Nate unless you can shed salary. There really is no point. He gives you more scoring then just about any other bench player in the league.

I would rather get a 2011 1st Rounder. A 2010 1st Rounder adds money to the cap, right?

Gotta pay off Z and let him sit for 30 days cuz he going back to CLev.

YOu want Lebron to win a ring. Then he can say he gave somthing back to Akron and leave.

He loves Nate? I don't think he is going to stay cuz he got Nay Nate the Team Mate!

Nate and Shaq has got to be a great combo!

Of course Nate is on the shelf but I think these two rumors are old news leaked late.

Playoff chances? You really think dumping Nate Robinson would kill our nearly non-existent playoff chances? Come'on.

Nate Robinson and Eddy Curry or Jared Jeffries are the difference between LeBron winning a ring or not? Wow, well then, let's keep them and sign LeBron this summer!

Eddy Curry is finished.

Mentally, Physically....and going to collect his remaining paychecks from us.

It's been years and we're still talking about Eddy Curry being young and being able to put it all together.

Not happening.

Fear of not doing enough to win a title while you still have the leagues top young player is enough to make a deal with the Knicks. As a GM you can't worry too much about the next year, cuz that's not as important for a title contending team as the current push for a title. Next year they could end up with major injuries that leave them out of the race, so while you're currently on pace to vie for a title you do what you have to, in order to give your team the best shot to win. In that case I could see the Cavs doing a deal that could give us more cap space. In their eyes you have to believe that if you win a title you can keep your star!!!

If they're willing to absorb JJ, then I say DW is gonna pull the trigger. Now on our side it is risky to give Lebron a piece that could help him win a title for his home team and then perhaps have him decide to stay, but it's still worth it IMO, cuz you can really put together a heck of a team with 2 Max players on it or really get creative in working some kind of big trade.

Lol...real talk. No way in hell they do a deal. There has to be a lot of competitiveness between those Walsh and Ferry unless they know something we dont. They prolly glare at each other and shyt like mortal enemies whenever they see each other...

Right on.

It adds .5mil more than the caphold for a mimimun salary player...which we would need anyway to get the roster to 13.
