Lebron, Wade, Bosh, Dirk get the max

i think JJ & Amare will get slightly less at around $14-15 mil per annual value.

D Lee, Boozer will probably land at around the $12 mil per mark.

Dirk doesn't get the max only because he is in his 30s. But he is a max player if I ever saw one.

Amare, Bosh, Wade, and Lebron are getting the max. I have a feeling Joe Johnson is going to get the max from someone as well. Im concerned with OKC this summer. They may go for the marbles this summer if they make nose in the playoffs.

Phoenix is reportedly looking into resigning Amare this week. Amare obviously isnt resigning for less than the max.

i think OKC only has $14 mil in cap space to use, so they can't sign a max player... u might be right on Amare but he's had some injury issues lately so it might hurt his value a little.

Sign and trade. Jeff Green has no position on that team. Westbrook("PG"), Harden(SG), Durant(SF), and BJ Mullens (C). That is a decent core, now add Amare or Bosh to that core and you have a good young team.

i personally think D Lee makes a lot more sense for them than Amare or Bosh, simply because both those guys demand many touches on offense & OKC already has their 1-2 punch in Durant & Westbrook... Mullens isn't ready to start yet, u can have Lee at C with Green at PF & Durant at SF & u can maintain enough cap flexibility to re-sign their top 2 guys when their contracts come up for renegotiation.

I dont see OKC's GM breaking the bank for David Lee considering that team actually plays defense. Lee at center in the West is joke. OKC would be spending in an attempt to put them up there with the top teams in the West. If OKC's GM spends big it will likely be for a proven difference maker. If Amare and Bosh are unattainable then I could see OKC making a run at Lee to play PF and signing a guy like Camby to play center.

there are very few true C's in the NBA worth a crap anyways... Lee would be a huge upgrade over Nenad Krstic & they're already playing 5 games over .500 as it is... i just don't see them adding another max guy to that team, Durant is going to be their franchise guy & Westbrook is going to be his Robin, unless something crazy happens like they trade for Lebron James.

OKC is already built to rock n roll during the regular season. Any acquisition they make over the summer would be to improve their team in the playoffs. Bynum, Gasol, Dirk, Nene, Aldridge, Amare, Yao, Scola, Landry, Duncan and West would give Lee the business. David Lee at center isn't happening with OKC's GM.

OKC has to go through the Lakers and Lee isn't taking them past the Laker's playing center.

Lee can more than hold his own vs. half the guys on that list if not out play them outright.

obviously it's gonna take more than Lee to win a championship no doubt, i wasn't implying anything in that direction... IMO a team like OKC will be happy to make the playoffs & gain that extra revenue... championships would be a bonus... right now they're on the cusp of falling out of the playoff hunt in the WC at the #8 seed... add Lee to that team & they'd be a perennial playoff contender.

Lee can give business to all of those people, but on offense. On defense he let up points to them, essentially playing them to a draw! But he give solid business, dish it out!

re the Knicks:

i'd offer a max to lebron. if he doesn’t take it, offer it to wade.

if neither take it, i'd then offer a TWO-YEAR max to dirk, bosh or amare. dirk's too old for longer than that, and bosh and amare aren’t good enough for longer. if they end up getting only lower offers from others, they might want to capitalize on all that cash for 2 years. and we don't get stuck longer with a guy getting overpaid. If they work out great, we can offer them another contract in 2 years.

No one is taking a freakin' 2 year max deal when they can easily get the full thing elsewhere!! In the case of Dirk, he's not getting max and he's NOT leaving Dallas. Guy is noble warrior in the mold of Charlemagne or Hannibal-- he stay in Dallas and finish his commitment.

I'm with Marv; That shouldn't change our offer. If one of those players can acquire surplus via another team's moronicism, so be it. Just puts the Knicks in a more competitive situation down the line, when a max-worthy player (like Chris Paul) becomes available.

I mean, yea, I guess. If that's the way you're looking at it. Just doesn't seem like very sound strategy to hope for something like the moronicism of another team, but I guess anything is worth a shot.

My question to you, big shot, is has there ever been a max-type player in their prime that accepts a 2 year max deal? I doubt it, kitty cat. Today, I shoot a letter with my picture attached to Kirstie Alley and maybe she will respond and marry me. Worth a shot, right?

In my mind, the Nate + Lee combo = max player
following the same logic as above...
Lebron, Wade = max
Bosh = still not sure, but if he signs we can say good bye to lee and Nate (sign and trade?)

just below, but worth it if we can get them both:
Joe Johnson + Amare >= Nate + lee + harrington

Adding those two would be huge upgrade in two key positions for us.

If Ray Allen decides to leave Boston, MLE?

So I think Amare ad Joe Johnson are worth max IF they come together as a package deal.

However, I would prefer to pay them both combined $25 - $30 million.

Wade and lebron are the only real max players IMHO.

Unfrtunately, 6 players may end up getting it (if they dot get extensions first)

Let's go Knicks. That's amare

alot of teams can't afford to give out $100+ mil contracts...especially with the new CBA on the horizon. i say only 3 guys get the max - lebron + wade + bosh. bosh is obviously not in their class but he is only 25 and is probably the best young PF in the game.
who gets the max?
