Cholly fit the old knicks to a T. Played tough defense, slowly bringing the ball up to set up the half-court featuring Ewing or stay outside and shoot the three. This team is so different, it requires an entirely different skill set that runs a nd creates off the dribble. Ward could still be usefull to lets say Vandummy's Houston Rockets. he he

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Ward could help a number of teams, but I would much rather keep Ward and trade or buy out Eisley if it was possible.

With Moochie Norris here the backup PG spot should go to him as he fits the style of play the Knicks play these days. We still don't really have a backup SG. Personally I'm expecting a move for one trading either Ward or Eisly, and considering nobody in their right mind will take Eisly, Ward will probably be traded for a backup 2. But then again, somebody took Spoon, so who knows, just let Thomas work his magic. One bad contract that plays SG and can be imagined to be traded for Eisly is Eddie Robinson on the Bulls, that deal sounds somewhat similar to the one for Moochie, but even more farfetched. Either way it looks like both Ward and Eisly are not in the Knicks short-term or long-term future and that is great.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

I heard Eddie Robinson is an underachiever. I dont want him here then. I would rather have someone like Kobe, or Tracy McGady from Orlando. They have really good ball handling skills and can pass out when they penetrade.

I say we trade Charlie Ward and Howard Eisley to Orlando for Tracy McGrady. (Real GM: 1375120) We have a backup PG in Moochie and dont need Ward and Eisley. Tha would make out team so much better.

And then maybe we can figure out a way to trade for Tim Duncan from San Antonio who is a pretty Solid PF and can play some center for McDyess. They might do it because Dice's contract ends this year and they get cap relief.

Our Lineup would be:
FWill
T-Mac
KVH
Duncan
Deke
I think we can do some damage in the EAST!

sure KVH Eisley and Deke for Shaq -also works so that ur starting unit would be TMac-SF
Duncan-PF
Shaq-C
Houston-SG
FWill-PG

That unit might even compete against some of the better teams in the West

Ward is a raelly good BACKUP point gaurd cant u guys see how he has been playin durin our hot streak he is doin good

he has always played pretty well.. sure he has his moments.. but thats why he is a BACKUP not a starter

he is a way better backup than eisley and even moochie

let mooch play backup 2 and get rid of eisley

eisley sucks

eisley sucks...

Ward is a far better backup PG that Moochie, even if Moochie can penetrate a little more. Ward is a better passer, EONS better defender, and a better open shooter. Moochie really isnt very good, but he might fit in here better. I'd rather have Moochie play some backup 2 and be here next year as insurance for Frank and Vujanic. Let Ward stay this year and play out his deal. If they could do Eisley for Eddie Robinson I'd stand up and cheer, even if Robinson is an underachiever. Robinson is just an extra defender off the bench.

Tho I hate Ward's godsquading righteousness, think he's a dirty player ... and not particularly exciting, I'd hate to see him gone in a buyout/salary dump. The team is worse w/ Moochie replacing him, and I could care less if Cablevision saves some $.

So let's hope we trade the guy instead of dumping him. Just don't pick up a salary that goes more than a couple of years. There's got to be some interest in Ward. And because we're absolutely screwed cap wise for a couple of years anyway, we have some leeway in who we pick up.

Clearly, we need a serviceable back-up 2, especially since H20's shouldn't be playing more than 30-35 minutes until he's fully healthy. Maybe we lose a little replacing Ward w/ Moochie, but if we add at the backup 2, where we're really weak now, it would more than make up for it.

i'm sure thomas knows better. it's only common sence to trade ward. that way you don't lose anything. he has too much value right now to let it go to waste. but as you said, it better not be a long term contract.
