Cause when he plays bad we absolutely suck, when he turned his game around the team followed.

Amazing when you look at the stats in the Win loss column. We may bash this sub par player all day, but we go as far as he takes us.

He plays bad lee follows and the domino effect is in full effect. Lee and gallo is duhons meal ticket and we win when they play well( especially duhon) Al, will, and nate don't necessarily need to be set up, and we don't win much when they play well at all.

The worst thing about duhon, when his shot ain't falling, he can't do sht else right in no other aspect of the game, his confidence and focusness are in collasp mode. He just does not look like he can start in this system well consistanly. Mike essentially Change the style of play to suit duhon for the most part, and he just looks run down at times.

There has to be penetration from your pg in a half court set, he doesn't do it nearly enough, and he's just not athletic in any definition of the word. He should be the best 3pt shooter in the league to compensate for his lack of it..Has anyone even seen duhon dunk before

I agree dude...thats why we are who we are...mediocre...and our record actually shows below mediocre...

Duhon has been here 2 seasons now and D'antoni has babied him like they plan on keeping him long term...wtf...I hope I'm wrong on that. Knicks need a better pg...not this year but definately at the start of the next off-season

Chris is a nice guy, but I will be psyched to see him go. He's a head case. He hurts the team more often than helping. It's nice to see how much MDA's system benefits from a pure PG. If we miss on Lebron, there are still plenty of possibilities to make the Knicks into contenders, starting with a skilled passing guard.

Yesterday when I looked at espn.com and saw we were down 20 points in the 3rd quarter, the first thing I did was look at Duhon's stats (he was like 0-8) and I immediately knew why we were losing. It is true. When Duhon plays well, we usually win. When he has an off-night, we usually lose. We need an upgrade at PG in the worse way.

Still can't understand why Duhon misses wide open layups.

Duhon is the first NBA payer I have ever seen who is AFRAID to make a layup. I don't understand how this is possible. The guy is like that guy in the pickup game who can shoot but is otherwise a crappy player who is afraid to do anything but hang out on the 3 pt line because he knows he can't make layups.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Because he is not an NBA caliber starting point guard? Duhon can't make the opposing team pay for swarming the PnR cause he can't explode to the hoop and/or make a layup. Without that PnR working to establish Lee's game, the Knicks offense shuts down.

However, I think his lack of defense is more startling. I find it interesting that JJ covers opposing star caliber PGs for Duhon while Duhon tries to guard the lesser SGs. When the opposing team has a high quality PG and SG, Duhon is useless.

Nothing against Oklahoma because they have a great core of young players, but the Knicks (particularly Duhon) got exposed last night.

You know I gonna spin wit it

The problem with duhon is that, I don't think he ever gets better then where he's at thus far in his career.

I think mda is a good judge if talent and usually has a great game plan, I'm sure he see's duhon good character guy that can guide the team for decent stretches. The problem he doesn't relize is that duhon isn't physically preopared 35+ minutes a night and is lost when the opponet defends the PnR pretty well.

That now takes lee out the mix, and gallo's defender plays much more tighter.

You gotta bring Hughes in again, he is fully healed. Hughes should have played in that game.

I agree with the statement that the Knicks usually win when Duhon has a good/great game (I would even say a "just not awful" game). This, however, also explains why the Knicks' record is under .500, because that doesn't happen too often. If LeBron comes this offseason, that's great, and I obviously think that should be the Knicks' first priority this summer.

But if that pans out, getting an upgrade at PG is absolutely essential. Maybe Douglass blossoms over the summer and we won't have to, but as long as we have Duhon/Nate running the point, the Knicks will be a .500 team at peak

this is why signing nash or kidd would have been so awesome this past summer, they are so good and don't suck as bad as duhon. that would have changed everything and lebron would come for sure.

crzymdups - you have nailed it homeskillet. Lebron is great with the basketball and enjoys making the extra pass.

Forget the conventional blueprint. Use next season to make the first incremental step towards consistency excellence by adding a quality floor leader. The reason Lee receives the ball at the top of the post so much is that he is camouflaged as the defacto lead guard and triggers more than his share of half court sets.

Whether Lebron comes to New York or not. My sense is if D'Antoni is not too impatient, Donnie Walsh will keep Jeffries and wait for his contract and Eddy to expire in 2011 (coincidentally the same year the renovations at The Garden are completed) to make a run at the Eastern Conference Finals.

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but would it be so bad if the team next year was:

PG - Felton
SG - Chandler
SF - Gay
PF - Gallo
C - Lee

?

Then in 2011 sign Chris Paul?

is CP available in 2011? I just tried to verify that and came up with 2012.
