The supporting cast of the Cavs vs. the Knicks has been beaten to death, but i still have to know, if you take Lee off the Knicks and replace him with Williams, how does that affect our record?

How about Williams vs. Gallo in terms of long term careers? Which would you rather have for the long term and which one ends up having the better career when it's all said and done?

I think Lee has proven this year he deserves to be an all-star and with his play most definitely would be a perennial all-star alongside LeBron. Williams, at best, is a fringe all-star who made it last year as a replacement and is playing at about the same level this year, it looks like this is his peek.

It's obvious now that the Knicks are far superior than the Cavs with the cast of Lee, Gallo, Chandler, Hill, Douglas, and Bender, all players that we should have back next season, but i was just curious to what people thought of Lee vs. Williams as the second option when you take away everything else from the equation.

Would Mo Williams be playing Center? Cause I don't think he would fare so well.

Getting to the meat of the issue, Lebron may be better suited to the Knicks than the Cavs. I question your certainty in finding that Lee is a most definitely a perennial all-star (who hasn't made an all-star team) and Williams is a fringe pseudo all-star (that has made and all star team).

The Knicks run a lot of plays for DLee and he creates a lot of points and rebounds by working the glass. I don't think that Lebron plus Lee and Gallo is better than the Kobe/Gasol/Bynum/Artest/Odom team, or whoever the Heat pair with Wade (and Beasley) next season, or the lil bit older Celtics.

In this scenario, you are really taking Duhon and Lee from the lineup and replacing them with Harrington, or maybe Hill, and Williams.

For the short term, we would not be better off, IMO. A large part of our O is Duhon and Lee on the pick and roll. Lee is our top rebounder and scorer. At some point in the future, Hill may be a more valuable player, especially on D, but not for awhile (if at all).

I also agree that our supporting cast is better at this point.

I would rather have the Knicks roster than the Cavs roster (minus Lebron). Its not even close. Mo Williams is really good. The rest of the roster is really pretty crappy. In fact its terrible. Gallo, Chandler and Lee are a nice core group. Douglas looked good in limited minutes. Hill is a ???.

Mo Williams only made the All-Star team because Mr. Lebron and friends cry about it, wahhh wahhhhh. No one petition coaches or anything for Lee to make it, everyone petition for Mo to make it. So Lee, to me, is a two-time All-Star already while Mo is a zero time All-Star. Which team I take if I'm Lebron? The Knicks so much better! Cavs have a bunch of scrubs and cripples. What Lebron has go to realize is that if comes to New York next year, someone will definitely come in 2011. Like Melo or Paul! Knicks would have the room and Lebron, bam! Championships.

The Knicks do run a lot of plays for Lee of course, but that wouldn't change if LeBron was on the team. It would make his life much easier. Duhon is very good at playing the pick and roll game with Lee, but it's moresore because Lee is great at it, and i think he could do it with any solid pick and roll point guard as effectively. LeBron especially would do this very well with Lee simply because he is a very good distributer and much more dangerous offensively than Duhon.

My wording in regards to Lee may have been a little off. He's never made an all-star team this is true, so it's not a forgone conclusion he's a perennial all-star. However, what is true is Lee is putting up all-star numbers this season (19pts-11rebs-3asts-58%fg) and his numbers would be the same or better alongside LeBron, and i would argue better. So it is almost certain he would be putting up perennial all-star numbers for the rest of his prime years.

I don't consider Williams an all-star. He made is last season, but as a replacement and only deserved to be a replacement. In fact, Lee could have made it in his place last year, except Williams plays with LeBron, therefore his team's record is much better. Other than that, Mo Williams is just like every other above average, shoot first PG in the league. Next year give me Randy Foye, Kirk Hinrich, Ray Felton, DJ Augustine, or even potentially Toney Douglas who could all do similar things alongside LeBron that Williams does.
