imagine? i'd be doing cartwheels, jumping on the scorer's table & teabagging Tina Cervasio if that happened

I don't think you need much of an excuse to teabag Tina.

Hughes, Mobley & Effries for T-Mac & Brian Cook's expirings (works on trade checker)

- Knicks gain the cap space they're looking for & a possible bonus in T-Mac if he does anything this year
- Rockets get 2 useful players who play defense for their playoff run (money is pretty much a wash w/Mobley's insurance savings paying for much of Effries' contract next season)

Why do people keep trying to throw in Jefferies when the Rockets have already said they aren't taking back 2010 salary.

Realistic deal is:

Hughes and Darko
for
McGrady

- Houston gets size up front and a decent SG.
- Knicks get rid of players who are out of the rotation anyway for a a guy who can maybe help us make a playoff push.

Houston already has Chase Budinger, Battier, Ariza for SG/SF. Why would they want Hughes?

I don't get why we'd want a rehabbing McGrady who is upset about not playing in Houston when we've got a) a short rotation that is winning and b) a budding star in Wilson Chandler, whom McGrady would presumably take minutes from. Unless we unload a 2010 contract (either Curry or Jeffries), what am I missing here?
The new new core: Randle, RJ, IQ. Maybe Mitch. Future pick. Future trade. Future FA.

I dont think they "want" Hughes. I think they are more interested in Darko. The deal I proposed is basically trading guys who aren't going to negatively effect the momentum of either team because none of the 3 are playing. All 3 are complaining about their current situation though. Neither team adds future salary either.

You assume Walsh doesn't have other trades that could possible send Robinson packing before the deadline. D'Antoni isnt too fond of Hughs, Robinson, or Darko. I suspect McGrady would be that Grant Hill type player for us.

Lee at C, Gallo at PF, Chandler at SF, McGrady at SG, and Duhon at PG with Harrington off the bench.

because Hughes can also play some point for u as well & is a much better backup SG than Jermaine Taylor... he's also a terrific defensive player, which can never be in short supply... i don't see too many teams beating down their door for T-Mac right now, do u? if so feel free to come up w/some better options for the Rockets to pursue... the fact that Donnie & the Rockets are talking has to tell u something might be going down... it could be Al Harrington too, but the Rockets have even less of a need for forwards on their team than they do guards.

& Anubis, i throw in Effries because it doesn't make sense for the Knicks to make any deals for T-Mac unless we're dumping a contract for 2010... u don't give up an expiring like Hughes who you know can play & be effective for a guy who's coming off microfracture knee surgery & has yet to prove he's healthy enough to give u extended minutes & be productive.

I dont see Hughs sitting quietly for 14 games like Robinson. D'Antoni doesnt appear to care much for Hughs either.

Because he thinks Adelman will communicate to him.

T-Mac won't sit quietly for the rest of the season either... i'm just saying if a deal is being discussed, then i would have to assume Hughes is 1 of the names being talked about because of his contract & his current status on the team.

Walsh is only talking to his agent so who knows if HOU is even interested in trading him to us either... don't see many matches out there for him tho.

You're 100% right

We either dump salary for TMac, or its a yawner of a deal at best.

Outside of the point guard position, I really don't see where you put more scoring on the Knicks.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)
