When we changed over to zone defense and started running the offense with more deliberation---the game became more manageable giving us a chance to win. We are long at many positions in the zone and I don't think many teams are used to it.

Wingspan... its all about the wingspan...

Its pretty depressing to see the 7-Seconds-or-Less offense adjusted to a 24-Seconds-or-Less offense, but it seems to be the only way that Duhon can operate and we have no other option.

It certainly does make it easier for some of these guys to get back on defense though and use their length, especially Gallo, Jeffries, and Bender. When they are allowed to get back and get into position, it really cuts down on the passing lanes.

As cool as it would be to have a Bayless running the team and pushing the ball, I think that if you push the pace, Gallo suffers, becomes more of a bit player, and Chandler becomes more dominant. It will be very interesting to see who they add over the offseason and if they try to load up with guys that are capable of running the 7SoL offense.

You have to scratch your head at the Knicks' draft strategy for last year yet again, looking at the available FA class and the fact that we don't have a pick. You take Hill when there's a five or so guards on the board that can be a fit for MikeD's offense. They must have been completely sold on TD.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

While it is a little sad, I guess this group (Duhon?) just couldn't pull it off :(. But 'props' to MDA for fine tuning and is just another thing we look forward to when we get a real floor general. Props props.

WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

I think you can add Hughes, Harrington, Wilson, JJ to the list next to Duhon (of those who can't do SSOL). Def starts with the PG, but perhaps this is a good year for them to learn some of the nuances at a slower pace.

The pace isn't the only reason for the points allowed improvement. The rotation is slanted towards a group that is more committed to D, more capable of defending multiple positions and thus switching effectively and with better size n length.

We don't have to play as slow as Duhon does in order to be successful. He takes it to far. We still run the same sets only we run thru the full cycle. MDA's offense always had a half court aspect to it for when a clear shot wasn't there early. Duhon's lack of speed and vision is very limiting but the othr guys would benefit from a better PG immediately.

It became more and more clear that in MDA system all-star PG is more important that even... LeBronization.

I wouldn't go that far. Lebron is practically a PG himself. His ability to create for himself and others would allow MDA to use him effectively. Having a stud PG helps but when you have Lebron he can make up for not having one. Building a title contender is a tough thing to do, but it gets easier with a stud like Lebron.
