The Knicks' 47 treys fell two short of the NBA record, set in 1996 by Dallas. New York chukkers did set the NBA record for most 3-pointers in a first half with 29. At one point, they missed 15 straight 3-pointers.

"Some were good, some were just jacked up," D'Antoni said. "They went in early for us and that's how we got into taking them."

Robinson sat at his locker and stared for several minutes at the sickly boxscore sheet that had the Knicks shooting 36 percent and taking more 3-pointers than 2-pointers (47-39) -- the first time that's happened in an NBA game in three years. Worse for Robinson, the stat sheet showed D'Antoni basically used a six-man rotation, using Toney Douglas for just 4:15 as the lone guard off the bench.

It's time to go back and reinvent the wheel.

What the teams needs is someone to build around who plays on both ends of the court.

Preferably a vet who has at least won a chip and is about the 27 28 yrs of age category.

Someone to bring a work ethic and skill and talent to a team that sucks.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

i think we might have won last night if the guys on the floor were fresher. tired shooters = bricked 3s. like it or not this team lives and dies by the 3.

They still shot 34% from three to Chicago's 33%, what really killed them I think is all the starters playing 40+ minutes and just losing steam in the fourth. That and Eddy Curry.

Duhon is the fool who stared down his former teams bench after making a 3 then proceeds to shoot bricks. The less he says to the media the better.

Looks to me like our offense consists of 3 things:

Pick and roll.
Threes.
Al-puts-head-down-and-drives.

During our winning streak we played teams with poor/no interior defense, so we were able to run all three components of our offense, and looked pretty good.
Last two games we have come up against teams who have played solid interior defense. So we go with the threes.

We'll win some such games when Gallo/Al/Duhon shoot well. But when they don't....

Absolute horrible game last night.

Reverted back to chucking. Gallinari was 40 feet[ditto for Harrington] from the basket and didnt do anything in terms of rebounding or defense. They jammed the pick and roll and our counter was keep shooting 3 balls. We didnt use depth--so when the lively and long Clippers kick our arses tonight--we can look back to Mike D staying way too tight because of agenda.

Sports are crazy--too many highs too many lows--

I think in might be in our best interests to lose a few games here so that the people in charge realize what we have and dont have--and the reality of the situation. Everyone can be blinded by short win streaks.

I dont think there is a risk there. DW wasnt temped to see how many wins we could get out of Crawford and Zach last year. I think winning is better because these guys are getting moved. We win the deals will be better.

These guys aren't fooling any GM. Jefferies is the same guy he was in Washington and Curry is still lazy. Even teams not interested in 2010 have to be wary of taking on 2010 salary due to the likely cap space drop. Who wants to pay the Lux tax for the likes of Jefferies or Curry without being compensated with picks or players on rookie deals.

That about sums up our offense except:

Nate Robinson

and

there are times where we actually move the ball and have screen away from the ball, backdoor cuts etc. considering d'antoni is an offensive genius we need to either come up with more than that or...

maybe the Knicks collapse down the stretch because we depend on outside shooting and everyone is tired. if true we should see more and more late game collapses the more season passes by

The late game benching of Harrington has been overlooked.

Did D'Antoni pull Al from the finishing five to deliver a message about his forced shots in the second half?

A lead guard who thinks "keep shooting" first does nothing to get everyone involved in the rhythm of touching the basketball.

Free agents in 2010 ? Who said that's what I meant? I know for a fact the knicks need a player not just next yr in 2010 , but for the yrs to come to fit my description.

What he actually meant to say is that he will continue to ignore coach (who's yelling for him to push the ball) by walking it up. And he will continue to launch contested 3's that disrupt the flow of the offense.

We are not dummies coach. You don't want to play n8 because of his antic but you continue to force that slimmed down turd Eddy Curry into the game only for him to totally disrupt any thing positive that might have been going on. Defense, offense...hell the whole game goes to crap when he comes in. YOU CAN'T CONVINCE ME THAT N8 would have been worse. At the very least he can hit an open jumper (better than 3/4th of the squad).

DamnPhoney said he's playing the vets because he's in win mode. Excuse me genius be that includes NOT running your vets into the ground by forcing them to play 40minutes on the 1st day of a back to back.

what an ass

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt
