Isiah Thomas, the Knicks' new president of basketball operations, said before the game that he did not plan to rebuild the team because he could not tolerate losing.

Looks like we will have to motivate on what we have.

I think Isiah was saying that he would not start the roster from scratch and implement a 5 year plan to get back into the "game", not that we would necessarily see the same faces in Knick uniforms.

believe it or not, I think Harrington, Doleac, Ward, Ward, and even Dice are tradable assets because of their expiring contracts. Milos is a bargining chip. Some West coast teams would take a chance on Deke because of his size in the middle. The Knicks ARE strapped because of Houston, Anderson, Eisley, KVH, but there is a little wiggle room.

If Zeke can some how package those ridiculous contracts with the expiring one's, I will be really happy. Especially KVH and H2O's max contracts! I cannot believe what Layden was thiking having 3 max contracts on our roster!

I think he'll be able to trade those umoveable-looking contracts with the right packages. One thing for sure, he won't be offering or accepting lopsided-azz deals like LayDown had a habit of doing.

He's creating roster space right now in preparation for a move. Okay, he's gonna give the "rebuilding on the fly" thing a chance, but I am alot more confident in him than I was in LayDown.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

True that!! LAydone didn't have a clue...

I agree with you that at least with Thomas, Knick fans out there will feel more confident and comfortable of him making moves to better the team.

Also, Thomas has the respect throughout the league. If he's gonna make trades, he ain't gonna offer half-azz propositions that laydone, juat like you said.

the knicks could'nt rebuild from scratch if they wanted to. fans are too demanding, particularly in ny. not to mention dolan. i place all confidence in zeke. (not that i have a choice.)

Thats how I feel. I have no choice! I cannot blame people for liking H2O or KVH or not liking them. They dont have a choice! We cannot get anyone out of NY and into NY! If we could, we would've a good coach right now.

i don't get why chaney hasn't been fired yet. What good does it do us to wait for his next loss. We're just waisting our time.

Martin, are you suggesting we pick up Mr. Wiggle ?

Seems to me Ward, Houston, and Thomas are players with longest duration wearing Orange & Blue. I look for these players to keep the balance. And if we are strapped with contracts other teams not willing to negoiate, its time we work from within.

The key here is that Zeke knows talent, Layden knew character guys, not so much talent, because there is no excuse for giving spoon that much money, Anderson that much money especially, and overpaying Houston by 40 million. trading for eisley was just as stupid, those are a lot of dumb, and supremely expensive blunders. Gm's usually don't make that many big money mistakes over a long career, layden did it in 3 years and didn't seem to give it much thought. Things can only get better under thomas..

This is a nice start for Zeke, and a good turn of events for the fans. A good round of applause should be the welcome for our road warriors tonite.
