Here is a trick I use with FireFox, I don't know how to set up custom css for IE or Chrome or other browsers:

1. Create a file called userContent.css in your Firefox profile directory, inside of the chrome directory.

- On OS X this will be inside of <home>/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/>random characters>.default/chrome/

- On Windows this will be inside of %appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<random characters>.default\chrome .

- If you've been upgrading since very old versions of Firefox the profile directory might be called default.xxx

2. Paste the following into userContent.css (you can open file with Notepad or something):

@-moz-document domain(newsday.com) {
#GB_window {display:none !important;}
}

3. Save userContent.css, close and re-open Firefox.

There is still the annoying overlay image that is see-through, but what the hell. There is a way to make that go away but it's trickier.

OK, so now you can read his blog if you go to this url: http://www.newsday.com/sports/basketball/knicks/the-knicks-fix-1.812055. Going directly to a blog article won't work.

I remember that when they first started this pa per view policy, they said that viewers would have the opportunity to read 1 article daily without subscribing. Has anyone found out how to do that?

If you use FireFox, you can just press the X button (stop) next to the refresh button on top while the blog page is loading and it will allow you to see the blog without that little pop up in the way. You just have to time the pressing of the stop button correctly. I've perfected it now. You will get it after a few tries.

It's pretty amazing the people who programmed this stuff. Okay guys, we're going to protect our work for ~$20 a month and here's how it works. Load all the entire articles on people's webpages that they can manipulate and then put a little programming doohicky on top so they can't quite see it perfectly. No one will ever find a system to bypass all this without hours of manipulation hacking.
