Tim Thomas of the Dallas Mavericks is an assault suspect in a melee that occurred early Wednesday at a restaurant, according to witnesses and police records.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, which occurred about 3 a.m. at the Denny’s restaurant.

Police records give the following account of what happened:

Thomas, another man and three women entered the Denny’s. Damien Pettie, 29, recognized Thomas and told police that he stated, “What’s up?” Thomas told him not to talk to him, using curse words and racial and anti-gay epithets. Pettie responded with profanity.

The man with Thomas then struck Pettie twice in the face, busting his lip open. “Then all parties within both groups began to throw chairs, knock over tables, and fight each other” until the store manager told them he was going call police.

A suspect, identified as Thomas, threw a chair that struck Moya Kissick, striking her in her left side.

Thomas and his group then left the restaurant before police arrived.

I hear you DJ on Denny's, but ain't much else open @ 3 a.m. I once threw up on a chick's lap in a Denny's. The pancackes came out looking like Bukkaka...

Why is he out at 3am at a deny's?

If I'm in a diner at 3am....I'm smashed outta my mind. He's gotta do better.

Stay classy Tim Thomas! It amazes that some of these guys will spend 6 figures on a car but will eat at a nastyass Dennys. Go home and cook yourself some eggs and put some toast on.

To me, Denny's is absolutely disgusting. It doesn't help that I got sick from eating there one time, but still. That **** is nasty.

If my opinion of Tim Thomas could possibly go any lower, this would do it. Not the melee part - the eating at Denny's part.

That story is about as phony as it gets. The guy says "what's up" and Thomas just starts cursing at him. Okay, like I believe that. I don't know who started the fight, but I know THomas did not just start cursing at this guy just because he said what's up. It is not like Thomas is a Tiger Woods or Jordan who gets hassled everywhere they go.
