A few of us have been debating that for ex. Lets say Knicks buyout Spoon for 11mm. When will he come off the knicks payroll??? few people said after this season but it would really be after the 2004-2005 season which would be a yr less than his original time to expire with the knicks.

If the Knicks had done this before luxury tax hit NBA teams then he would come off the books after the season. Anyone can elaborate on this??
