The teams ahead of us aren't that good. It may also be hard for some to accept that this team is playing at the level we predicted. The losing was bad but it doesn't mean they can't turn things around. Al is a big part of whatever success we've had I doubt Walsh would trade him unless it was a sweet deal for our future. Besides the better he plays and our record gets the more value he have.
well the only way to cash in on his value is before the trade deadline, so u gotta ask urself is trying to make the playoffs more important or making value trades for future assets more important.
But is it that simple? We have the playoffs, development of our younguns and then future assets.
Now, choice two I don't think D'Antoni cares too much for, but I could be wrong.
The playoffs are important for everyone who will be here next year, it changes the atmosphere. Getting assets for Al is a strong possibility as he is playing close to all star level, yes, I think he is. He right now is the driving force on this team. No one can cover him one on one. If he plays smart (like he has been doing recently) he will make those around him a bit better.
With our cap space coming for next year, unless we use Al to unload Curry or Jeffries, do we really need assets? Our cap space right now is our greatest asset (in addition to the younguns).
I would love to have Lee and Harrington back next year and we could if we get rid of both Jeffries and Curry, big if.
