It seem with Oden now out and Portland being a playoff team that they are going to need something of a replacement.
Oden was playing 24 mins a game: 11pts, 8.5 rebs and 2.3 blocks.

I wonder if there is any way they would take Jeffries? They would most likely want Lee and now they might be forced to give us what we want. The question is, with us playing well of late, would be give up Lee. I think Lee would be game to go to a playoff team. Jeffries might be a choice cause he could help them defensively and not coast them anything but an expiring.

Make no mistake, Oden was reallying helping that team and they are going to need somebody to step in.
This is our chance to get something for Lee if he is not in our plans. We can get a pg (Miller and maybe Bayless).
Hmmmm

Portland still has Przy and Aldridge. I am not sure if they will be desperate enough to take on any of the Knicks contracts.

They have had him for 6 years and still wanted Lee this last off-season.

Desperate enough to take on Lee's contract if they could get rid of Miller who they no longer want? I don't follow you.
We clearly would be the ones giving up the talent, so again i don't follow your use of "desperate"?

Lee would have to approve a trade to a team that he didn't want to sign with in the off-season. Of course, since Oden is out they can offer him a starting job. That was his objection to signing with them in the summer.

Can offer Curry, Chandler, David Lee I would think would be their biggest interest. Nate Robinson is from Washington, so it might make sense to ship him there.

Portland now has 2 of their top players out for the year - Oden and Outlaw. They do need someone to replace at least one of them. However, I don't want Andre Miller at 3 yrs/$21 million. Miller is 33 years old. I don't want him for 3 years.

I don't want Andre either. I hadn't really thought of what WE could get back. Sergio? I guess they would be interested in Chandler if Outlaw is out. The biggest problem would be matching the contracts up, so I think it's likely a third team would be involved.

Sergio was traded to Sacramento. I'd love Rudy Fernandez but Portland hasn't wanted to trade him. A big NO to Bayless - he really hasn't shown anything.

I just noticed that Nicholas Batum is also injured (shoulder) and hasn't played at all this year. Amazing Portland is doing so well. 13-8.

Ah, I must have missed that. On Rudy, maybe they haven't wanted to trade him, but this Oden injury throws a monkey in the wrench. So I think they are forced to reevaluate their thinking and this could make Rudy available.

I like Rudy, would be very good here and kid can absolutely DRILL a three-shot.

Orange - I forgot about Nate, good point. Nate could replace Outlaw's offense and then some. Nate might actually like that trade as Nate is from the area.
Mark J and Orange - Not saying I want Miller but I think he is an upgrade over Duhon, a big one. It's the contract that sucks. We need a pg past this year though. Duhon would cost us probably half of what Miller makes but Miller is way better.

Douglas is really the solution for us in my mind (long term). Can we pry Rudy off of them? I think Chandler is probably the all around better player, so would prefer to stick with Chandlers.

Things just opened up for us it seems...

You could be right. Portland lost 3 in a row before their last win against Houston - but they lost Oden in that game. They will have to do something. Too many injuries.

Also just read that their coach, McMillan ruptured his achilles tendon on Fri during practice and will have an operation on Mon. Won't travel with the team for their 4 game road trip. We play them on Mon (Briggs treat). Too bad I live over 1,000 miles away - I won't be at the game. I think we could beat them now. That might interest them in one of our players. Hopefully Jeffries and Nate.

Interesting idea Earthman - Duhon and Miller - salaries are pretty equal. But I only take Miller if they take Jeffries ($6.46)
Miller only makes $6.7 million this year. Miller for Jeffries works salary-wise.

I just can't take Miller. Contract is so bad that it's really bad. Because if you take Miller then the question is "why did you not sign Sessions?". So I just can't imagine a scenario where Donnie would do that.

bayless looked pretty good scoring the ball last night. he played mostly off guard and when he got the ball in space he got any shot he wanted. wouldn't mind seeing him and his scoring touch here
the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

Jeffries and Chandler for Batum and Miller. Gives the Knicks a couple of long term pieces that might be a better fit than JJ and Wilson and has essentially no impact on the cap.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Obviously we would like to offload Jeffries and/or Curry, but I'd be shocked if Portland had any interest.

This is however a golden opportunity to move Lee for a young player and/or picks in the next draft. I would make Nate available too. Aside from moving the obvious monolithic contracts of Curry and Fishlips, turning DLee into draft picks should be our top priority in this scenario.

Portland wanted Lee BEFORE Oden got hurt, I'm sure now they are willing to overpay for him. Get me Rudy Fernandez.

the darling of the nba is now at a crossroads. they were going to go as far as oden takes them, and now he's done. roy can ball but aldridge imho, is an overrated big. they have all these swing men that morph into each other and have no forseeable cap room and signed andre miller for no reason whatsoever.

pritchard should've cashed in on all the hype from their swings...but now it aint' gonna be so easy...

What can we offer Portland?
