That's horrible. I thought he finally was having a few decent games. Alas too much pressure of being the top pick just did him in.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Rough week for Ohio State. Evan Turner just broke two vertebrae too.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

If he really is done he makes the arguement for doing away with the age restriction. What if he was still in college no big league pay checks.

Wow, sorry to hear about Oden -- he really was playing well this season so far from what I saw..I would think D-Lee makes even more sense for Portland right now than it ever has. I wonder how he'd feel about going there and starting next to LaMarcus Aldridge for the rest of this year, then being the first big off the bench to back up Oden & Aldridge next year..I'd love to get 2 out of these 3 assets: Bayless, Rudy, and/or their 2010 1st rounder along with whatever contract filler they can come up with to make the deal work (Outlaw, Blake, etc..).

Maybe Harrington might make some sense for Portland as well. As banged up as their frontcourt situation is right now, I don't see them being interested in Curry or Jeffries...They do have some major potential as a trading partner right now though, I would think...Donnie's gotta give Pritchard a call to feel him out.

donnie's #1 job is to deal curry or fishlips for an expiring. I have no problem giving them Avi Lee but they must take back curry or fishlips (I'm sure they'd prefer Effries) for outlaw/bayless/rudy. they can keep their first rounder (remember cap hold)

Oden was never good and never going to be what the hype forced us to believe. We were told constantly that this guy was going to be the supreme being. A player never before seen. We could take all the great big men we've watched over the decades, smash them into one single entity, and watch him dominate in a way we've never seen. He was a hall of fame NBA super star before he even got to college. He was to average a triple double (Points, Rebounds, Blocks) from the moment he stepped onto an NBA practice court. The man was to be a God and we were all to drop to our knees and worship him. The hype was as bad, if not worse, than the hype surrounding a high school sophomore named LeBron James who had his high school basketball games televised around the world. We were to offer our bodies and souls to the man who was to save the earth.

Therefore, when I saw this man, who appeared to be 55 years old, and a clumsy disoriented fool on the court, and I weighed what I saw versus what I was told was going to change my very life, I ripped a fart and changed the channel.

Ever since then I hated Greg Oden and wished nothing but the worst for him. It's my right as a fan of the game I was told was going to change forever due to his very existence. All it did was make it worse. Good riddance and good riddance to his jock riding blind ass fans.

I will say I commend any man who reaches his 50s and decides to go back to college to complete the degree he never got. However, why he bothered with sports, is beyond comprehension.

no, that was his right knee. does a broken patella require microfracture surgery? 2 surgeries can't be good.

Remember the year that Oden was coming out the Celts tanked. Imagine if they had gotten Oden instead of making the big trades that pushed them over the top.

He just had a game where he scored 13, rebounded 20 and blocked 4 shots.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

wow, u got some deepseated hate for this man... not sure what that's all about but if u watched him put up 13 pts. / 20 reb. / 4 blks. / 2 ast. / 1 stl. w/11 offensive rebounds in 30 minutes the game before he broke his knee u might have a different take on his upside... the guy's 21 years old & was shooting 61% from the field this season... way too early to pronounce him a bust, & i'm not even a jock riding fan of his either.

Is that first-overall good, though? Another case of draft position hanging over player's head.
