We're not privy to previous conversations between Nate and MDA. I am sure that he has had discussions with him in the past.
Nate is Nate- an electrifying dynamic scorer who is a true competitor who can have moments of greatness, but also a guy who makes bonehead decisions, takes questionable shots,is inconsistent on defense and as a distributor of the ball, and a potential hothead who can pick up a technical at any time in a game.
Nate knows how MDA wants him to play- he is simply unable to do it on a consistent basis.
