EDIT 12.08.09 - We are now 2 out. This has got to be the official playoff tracker, as things were looking bad.
We have had moments this year, like recently against Boston and Denver. We need our point guard to be able to score and break down defenses, we can't count on Al having big nights. Two points:
The season isn't over yet. Utah might not get a high lottery pick. That would haunt NY for years (well, if we don't get a max or two There are so many mediocre and crappy teams that that helps us tremendously.
Just hoping, and thanks guys for the funny stuff, really LOL The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift. Albert Einstein

"Only X games out of a playoff spot"
We go through this every year and it holds true until the final 25 games or so where we finally tank while those who are playoff bound play like teams who are playoff bound. It's a meaningless stat. Ignore it. http://popcornmachine.net/ A must-use tool for NBA stat junkies!

Cosmic wrote:"Only X games out of a playoff spot" the hilarity of it all is that when we own our own lottery pick we're so damn afraid of tanking games that we use this line of thinking to try & eek out as many wins as possible by playing the vets so we can guarantee ourselves of a worse lottery position in the draft, while this year when we no longer own our lottery pick we'll likely end up playing the young guys down the stretch of the season after our team falls completely out of the imaginary playoff race by the trade deadline... gotta love how things work around here.
