Not signing Iverson shows that the Knicks are committed to their plan, to winning, and that they are under the leadership of a very steady hand.

Signing Iverson as a novelty act would have sent the wrong message, it would have said something like "hey man, we just want You (Lebron, Bosh, etc.,) as a novelty, not to win"

Not signing him, while maybe silly at a glance, will actually have more long-term positive effects than bad.

Word...has anyone looked at it like this or what?

No, I'm with you on this.

I don't understand y eny and company are getting their panties in a bunch. This team isn't good, and it wasn't suppose to be. How were we supposed to be good this year, if, after being bad last year, we didn't do anything to improve?

AI is drama-- we're going to have enough drama with all the losing the team has committed to endure. As constituted this is still THE BEST TEAM WE'VE HAD IN YEARS.

Let it be known: I believe in the Knicks this year-- deep into the playoffs, I swear to you my brothers...

i wouldnt' be getting my panties in a bunch if MDA was playing our young guys & trying to develop them like he said was the plan... we'll see what happens after the trade deadline... if Fishlips, Duhon, Harrington & Hughes are still seeing the lion's share of the minutes my panties will be pretty bunched up at that point.

I hear ya.

But young players don't just develop on the court. The develop in practice and, yes, even on the bench.

Rookies get called for cheap fouls, get targeted by opposing vets for exposure and exploitation on the court and make mistakes of inexperience. As any father or coach can tell you, no matter how bad you want someone to mature, you can't rush it. Throwing them to the wolves could be demoralizing and even retard development.

Anyway, what's the rush? July ain't gonna be here any faster if Hill averages 15 minutes.

Signing Iverson would have showed me that they are trying to win now. Let's face it our young players are not that good compared to other teams young players. I wan't to win now without jepodizing the future. Iverson could have helped us win now. Hey another year here another year there and if we keep on 5 years will have gone by. and we will be saying, just wait till next year. That WAIT word is getting tired. It.s time for results now.
