I really really like the Brian Grant and Caron Butler idea. It will help us a lot. The problem though is that Kurt, Charlie and Doleac's contract ends this year anyway so they can just come off the books. The real problem is Clarence, Eisley, Shandon Anderson (he doesnt have to go but he is getting way too much money), KVH and Othella
The chicago trade doesn't work in realgm (1360996) and I really doubt Chicago gives up Jamal Crawford for Sweetney and Lampe when they have Chandler and Jerome Williams. I know Tyson is listed at C but he plays a lot od PF and so does Antonio Davis along with Jerome Williams. They love the Kirk Hinrich and Jamal Crawford backcourt tandem.
The Othella for Steven Hunter didn't work either (1360999) but I dont know if the 2nd round draft pick will make the difference. They say it did not meet the Collective bargaining agreement so I doubt it will.
If the Heat trade happens it will work wonders for New York and Miami will take it because of all the ending contracts.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

1. You will not be able to get a Caron type player without taking a little pain along with him. Brian grant is overpaid but serviceable. Hes still rock solid on the boards and is rugged in the post. If you write out the depth chart Knicks would very solid all around.
2. Chandlers back has been an issue. This gives them insurance. Antonio Davis health is always a concern and he wont be in Chicago very long. I think its a very even trade. Knicks fans may want more but consider these 2 rooks havent played even a games worth of minutes. If the Knicks can get them a SG somehow I cant see why this is so farfetched.
Cash should be able to even these deals out. They are all close. 3. Unless you are a fan of the whole NBA you wont understand. Steven Hunter would be huge for the KNicks. Not necessarily now but when Mutombo iis ready to exit he will be ready to ball with the best of them. Hes ultra athletic and loves the paint. Not all moves are about now.
