the play that Chandler was tripped.... if it had been called a foul on Garnett, Chandler shoots FTs because Boston was in the penalty, right?

so even though there was a make-up, Knicks were not given an equal call back?

Is that right?

oh man, just saw this too:

Watch Kevin Garnett moments before hitting his game-winner, looking like he's making a flag football double-tackle on Wilson Chandler. TrueHoop reader Jonathan, on the handsy big man: "See how he puts both his hands on the hips of the Knick defending Paul Pierce, giving the Pierce the angle he needs to create the mismatch that leads to KG being wide open. How is this a legal pick? KG got called for several moving screens earlier in the game, but placing both hands on the hips of a player as he tries to stay in front of Pierce? That's gotta be an unstoppable play, but not a legal one."

Wouldn't have KG fouled out of the game if that tripping call went through as well.

that left me scratching my head too... bad awareness & focus w/this team all around... no communication on that last play, bad awareness by Chandler, late defensive rotation by Al... our guys just don't know how to close out games... we had several games right there for us to win this year & they just can't get over the hump, missing shots down the stretch, making bad turnovers & defensive lapses... this isn't gonna change anytime soon until u bring in more heady players.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Agree. That was a bad call. THe problem was Pierce had the ball and Chandler had 5 fouls, so if you do foul, CHandler fouls out. MDA probably did not want to give them too much to think about. We really need to work on our pick and roll D. IF we can get that improved, we might start seeing some improvement in the W-L columns.

i read that they were supposed to foul in a specific situation which, i assume, either did not arise or was not recognized by the players.

IMO he shoulda been called for a flagrant foul on this because hewas trying to hurt chandler. Ever since garnett went to the celtics hes become a punk.Am I the only one that has noticed that garnett is getting that ewing limp now that he is in the twilight of his career. Rondo is gonna be in deep dudu when garnett, pierce and allen leaves. He will be a good player on a very bad team.

martin, nba officiating is the worst in all sports and watching it closely now makes it even more obvious that it's fixed. i didn't watch the game so i don't know about this foul but watch any game when a top team plays a weak one and you'll see the same thing at least 5-7 times.

mostly i watch the Knicks and the playoffs. The 2 non calls against Garnett were embarrassing. Overall, i have seen a ton of non-calls that don't go in the favor of the Knicks. sickening.

The Knicks could have won this game with one obvious call by the ref. Damm.
