Lets start with the Bucks. Place the Knicks and Bucks in a draft right now and the Bucks would occupy the first 3 slots...
1. Jennings
2. Bogut
3. Redd
Obviously we are not on Par with Bucks especially when you consider the disparity between the Bucks pg and our pg. The pg position might be the most important position in the game and when you consider we have a pg who is perhaps playing the worse of all the starting pg's in the league, its easy to see why the Bucks are off to a good start and we are struggling.
Sac-Town. Tyreke Evans is already more talented than anyone on our team. Jason Thonmpson is a better 2-way player than David Lee and Udrich is a flat-out better pg than Duhon. You already know about Kevin Martin.....Yet another team with more talent than the Knicks.
Indiana. Danny Granger. Need I say more. If I need to say more, TJ Ford is obviously a better point than Duhon. Hibbert is averaging nearly 3 blocks per and is giving them the defensive presence we lack...
And how about the teams who are languishing in the basement with us who people conveniently leave out of any argument when trying to convince peoeple that we are more talented than we really are. The Wizards are 2-7 with 2 allstars in the starting line-up. The Hornets are 3-8 and gave us our only victory. They also have 2 allstars....The Grizzlies have a boatload of young talent, Gay, Mayo, Gasol, Randolph, Conley, yet they are 2-8.
So, who are we more talented than again?
I will say that we have more talent (on paper) on this team than we had at the end of last year. The problem is that Chandler (39% FG5 and 21% from the 3) and Duhon (below the basketball Mendoza line of 25% on FG and 3PT shooting!) seem to be lost on the court, Harrington is having a terrible shooting year (18% from the 3, and still jacking them up) and playing no defense, Lee continues to be soft on the interior, and Nate has been hurt. I don't know what is going on between Darko and MDA, by the way.
By the way, Redd is a non-factor at this point- He is no longer an elite player IMO. His success this year will depend on his health and Jennings' ability to feed him in the corner.
For what it is worth-
Records of teams played against:
Knicks- 49-44
Bucks- 26-42
Kings- 39-46
Pacers 35-32 (only win against winning team- Boston)
At this point in the season records can be deceptive.
...except for the Knicks, who have been bad against almost everyone.
