MDA and Walsh never REALLY planned on winning this year.
The phrase they often used was "stay competitive."
True, that hasn't happened either, but it never really mattered.
You can't just throw rookies all the minutes on a squad full of veterans who are in contract years. If you think this looks bad, I imagine all out mutiny 3 weeks into the season would be worse.
The team is allowing the vets to play themselves out of the rotation. Management never really gave them any chance to suceed. This way they can scarcely grumble, AND they continue to invest time in supporting the rookies.
The lineup you guys are clamoring for will happen. Douglas, Hughes, Gallo, Hill and Lee. Jeffries and Curry will continue to get minutes. That squad will impress in the last third of the season-- enough to lure some money-hungry free agent.
