I know I just started the thread about Sactown...

Well I'm watching this Atlanta Hawks game now (replay)....Joe Johnson has been complaining about guys passing the ball. I'm not sure he's happy in ATL. His body language suggests some frustration though he is still competing and playing very well.

Now this situation is kinda obvious and realistic cuz Joe Johnson didn't re-sign and will test the free agent waters. ATL as a team already has Jamal Crawford to step in as a replacement for Joe. Craw has reciently been emerging as a go to guy down the stretch in games. Team seems to be hovering around his play...so it wouldn't be a suprise if ATL lets Joe walk.

Now is Joe Johnson worth the money? (Max or close to Max?)
If they do pay him....who else can the Knicks afford to get?

I've given up on getting the top tier UFAs... guy like Joe Johnson and Amare Stoudemire are more likely than LBJ, Wade, Bosh. The top guys are going to max out, but they're going to max out and go to a team that is better than 1-81. The team isn't competitive enough to attract the best.

So I'm not sure if Joe Johnson is worth the max, but that's how this team gets an All Star... unless they take on someone like Monta Ellis and hope he gets his attitude together

If the best free agents aren't coming here, I'd consider giving Johnson the max or close to it for three years. He's too old to give that much money for a longer period of time.

I'd go along with that.
