a la Dwyane Wade....

Yeah so...Knicks need Kevin Martin!!!!

*sigh*

****ing sucks man....there is no good reason Sactown trades the Knicks Kevin Martin unless the Knicks trade away spme expiring contracts...like say Hughes and Jared for Martin, Kenny Thomas and say Sergio...even if the Knicks throw in a future 1st round pick, There are teams out there that could give more.

Anyway...how cool would it be to have Toney Douglas and Kevin Martin in the backcourt with hopefully Lebron James in the front court with Gallo and somebody inside.

Agree big time about Evans, and thought this was so prior to the draft. He cannot run a team as a PG, IMO, and pairing him with Martin is not going to work in the long run

Evans' game has blossomed since Martin left and he has been paired with Udrih. I don't think it is a coincidence.

Interesting and difficult situation for Sacramento when Martin comes back.

We really don't have anything to offer them- they could really use a SF or a C, but I'm not sure that the guys we have to offer who are not expirings, Chandler or Curry, fit the bill.

Just a thought, though... Perhaps Martin's injury, and Evan's rise, and the 4 game winning streak the Kings have tells us something about Martin's value to a team.

Sactown needs experience....they have Spencer Hawes at center and he is very good just not consistant yet. Nocioni is on their team and they have some other young guys to play small fwd.....only reason I think they do it is to just to dump Kevin Martins contract. It is pretty huge and doesn't allow them to manuver. They are one of those teams that are looking to save money.

That would be a gift from heaven even though Martin hasn't played a full season injury free. His talent is worth the risk. Eventually his body will get used to the wear and tear. If a dude was more ment to play for D'antoni I don't know who it is....Wishful thinking

Evans is playing SG out of necessity. He's most valuable as a PG for them, playing great though. How many games has KMart started in the last few years? Seems like he's always injured.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

how when for the most part he can only go right?

at the 2 he can attack a d the way the tmacs pierces and roys do which makes use of his best primary asset - his scoring and still gives him the dribbling freedom to find guys out on the floor

Nope- before Martin was hurt Evans was playing PG out of necessity.

I don't think it is a coincidence that Evans is playing his best ball without Martin. Martin going out has been an addition by subtraction thing for the Kings up to this point. The problem with pairing Martin and Evans has as much to do with getting other teammates involved as it does with seeing which of the two- Martin or Evans, is going to be the featured scorer on the team. Udrih is a better team player than Evans or Martin, and the kind of player who gets everyone else involved.

Evans will end up being a SG- his natural position, and when he learns to do a better job of moving around without the ball and become more consistent with his J he will be a very good player.

This was the guy I really really hoped somehow we can get. I knew I was mad when he got picked 4th.
I thought just looking at this guy play--whether with Memphis--especially in that last game against Mizz-- his high school tapes the Mcd game--he comes off as a unique talent with the mentality of a winner. Rarely do you find such a large body man with such incredible handle of the ball with the ability --it appears to get into the lane/rim at will---with that body he is going to get a lot of point blank shots and he has always been a willing passer and a very good rebounder/defender. I was calling him a mini Lebron before the draft and thats what he is---a couple of inches shorter and not as explosive but a man child in many ways with advanced skills that will only get much much better.
When you look at a bottom line and see this kid has been 23-6-5 with great D since Martin went out and 4-0--the kid is all of 20 years old--I mean he is a franchise changer caliber guy.

Evans has got a long ways to go as a PG, but that's where he'll really win games for you.

Memphis was just an ordinary team until they moved Evans to PG, then they rolled off, what 20 straight?

He overdribbles, but with some good coaching and work he'll lead SacTown deep into the playoffs. He's way too much for any opposing PG to handle.

Keep dreaming!! This is not Fantasy NBA.

Knicks sucks and no one want their players. No one is doing Knicks any favors. 2012 is exactly what the Knicks' 2009-10 season looks like.

Very solid player- a small college gem who is really showing a complete game (3 APG!).

You wonder where he would have gone in the draft if he had played at a major school. I recall reading that he beat up on a few PFs, including Randolph in a pre-draft workout.

I'm a major Gallinari fan, but I expect that I could have come to appreciate Thompson if he was on the Knicks. The team that really could have used him was Milwaukee, he would have been a good fit for them.

With Martin, Evans and Jason Thompson, Sactown has a great young nucleus.

Jeeze Sactown and the Bucks are on pace to make the playoffs this year.

It would be great to see Warrick in the playoffs. Dude was lost in Memphis for his whole career.

I can't see Martin being with the team for the long run.

It will be interesting to see how they do when Martin gets back.

Shooting guard may be Evans position, but he hasn't been doing badly at the point for a young rookie. With work, he might actually be pretty good there. Remember, we had Sprewell who was a two perform very well at small forward for us.

My issue is how he works or does not work with Martin. I think Evans is a combo who can be an offensive minded PG, but would they(you) rather have him teamed with a true PG, or a SG who wants to be the go to guy on offense?

Right now he seems to be doing quite well with the true PG, and it will be very interesting to see the team chemistry is as good when Martin comes back, or if Martin is willing to step back and defer.

You know who this guy reminds me of a little on the offensive side -- Lance Stephenson. Lance may not have PG instincts like this guy has, but as far as the shake & bake out high with the crossover, jumpshot and take to the rim (Stephenson's might have an even better J than Tyreke with better form and no leg kickout), I see some similarities. Same size too. Can't wait to see this guy play for Cincy..
