i like what gallo brings but
kaleeena repeatedly blew by gallo and jackson froze him with hesitation moves for wide open jumpers. jax numbers are what they were cuz he missed alot of wide open shots the 2nd half but the guy did play the whole game straight.
its going to be a problem nightly.
mda actually let gallo counter with his size and played him in the post but he only got like 2 or 3 touches down there.
Did a really nice behind the back drive on him, and got away with a charge at one point.
Watch the game. They have Gallinari sagging off his man down low, and if a team rotates the ball quickly enough to his original man, he has to come out quickly- usually to get a hand in the guys face. There were a few plays where his man did exactly what Gallo sometimes does when his man comes out to cover him- attacked the basket instead of taking the J.
A guy Gallinari's size- 6'10"- is going to have trouble on the perimeter guarding a quick 6'5" opponent on the perimeter, especially with a team that has trouble helping out on D. ...and Jackson was not missing against anyone. Kalenna was having success against everyone, yesterday, by the way.
I actually think Gallinari looks stronger and bigger than he did at the start of the pre-season. He is also getting down the court a lot better than earlier in the season. I have said this before- I think he will end up as a PF, a position where he will face guys his size. Once he fills out and hardens, he will be able to handle other PFs. He also knows how to box out, and looked very aggressive on the boards yesterday.
He does need some post moves. He should work on a hook and watch some Kevin McHale and Tim Duncan videos to learn how to play in the post, and use the most abandoned type of shot in the NBA-the bank shot.
