When was the last time the Knicks had a draft pick, FA aquisition, etc that nobody expected to be good that surprised people?

The only ones I can think of are David Lee and Trevor Ariza, who we traded for Steve Francis.

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

Threads should have names in them.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Ariza and Udoka... too bad they did their best work elsewhere.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Ariza has come around... but guys like Udoka and Barnes absolutely stink on teams like the Knicks. They are complimentary players on great teams. You put them on a bad team and suddenly they're one of the better players on the team. When that happens and you're looking for Udoka and Barnes to lead the Knicks to the playoffs....that's when you have to sit back and realize what you're thinking there.

If we had Bosh and LeBron and you got Gallo and Douglas being Charlie Ward and Dirk Nowtizki - and THEN you add a Matt Barnes, Udoka, Ariza, etc? Then, yes, you've found a diamond in the rough to complete your roster.

Why...this piece of IMPORTANT rationale is left out of the conversation time and again is lost on me.

I always liked Will Bynum. I think enyspree was high on him too. Bynum was on that Macabbi team last year.

Chandler wasn't on anyones radar! Isiah got the jump on other GM's and despite his early struggles this yr I still think he has a bright future. With Chan we have to give him a bit of a pass this yr due to hus not being able to work on his game. His biggest issue is shot selection. When he's aggressive you see the talent. In time his shot and explosion will return, he's still very young.

TD is another great Knick pick up. Overall we've done a good job as a team finding good players late in the draft.

I was really impressed with Chandler's play last game. He looks like he shook off the early season slump to me even with the crap going on around him. He was the only one that wasn't disrupted by Atlanta's athletes.

Yeah I don't think it's a talent thing with Chan, he just needs to know how he's most effective and stay in that mode. When he's thinking too much or looking to just jack up shots, he's not gonna look good, but when he's aggressive and uses his great athletic ability, then he's a much better player.
