This year I think shallow water is playing out of his element a lot, he has taken more 19 - 20 footers than needed. Earth to Lee you're a rebounder and put back guy, so when he's out there jacking up shots everyone else is usually not in position to get a rebound. I know it rests on the PG to get players into position on offense but too many times I see Lee come to the top of the key and demanding the ball which usually lead to a low percentage shot or a bad pass. Lee's jumper is not consistent (well you could say that about most of the team, if not all) but he's our best rebounder who is actually padding the rebounding stats for opponents. $10m per I think not buddy.

Thank you. I wondered aloud why Lee was working on jumpshooting all summer when his game was inside.

He's going for his next contract. Its obvious.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

It's the PG. He starts the offense at the top of the key, so he should be able to shoot from there. If he can't shoot from there the pick defender will just pull back to the foul line.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Yeah, that's the way I'm seeing it. He seems to be trying to show his versatility to impress people for the next contract. I think what he is missing is that if his offense never got better but his defense took a leap forward his salary would jump 3-5 mill over night. Unfortunately GM's can see how badly he gets abused on a nightly basis, and how little he gives in response on the defensive end. He's still a valuable player, but I can't see someone giving him a ton of money with the way he is playing right now. If they do, if they aren't a great team already, they will regret it.

I just hope that people will like me

I disagree. I think gm's will see we have a 6'9 235 lber giving up 2-4inches inches and 15-30lbs nightly that never complains about playing out of position even though he got jerked on a long term deal by newyork

the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

the one thing i disapprove of when it comes to MDA's coaching is he's encouraging guys like D Lee & Ared Effries to play out of their element... D Lee needs to keep his ass inside & going after rebounds but he's got him chucking up shots from 20 feet now... Fishlips should be focusing on playing defense, getting garbage baskets off tip ins & hustle plays & fined every time he chucks up a perimeter J but now he's launching up 3's for God's sakes... what's up with that? gotta play these guys to their strengths, not their weaknesses.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Al Hortford is a PF playing out of position at center. But there is a reason why Hortford was taken number 3 in the lottery while Lee was taken number 29. Lee needs to get way stronger. He has come a long way from his rookie yr. But he needs to hit the weight room heavy. That would help his game a lot. He should also look to get to about 255 as he is no longer that Forward tweener that he came to the league as. He has the skill to be a very good low post player. He should be looking to develop more back to basket skills like a jump hook and passing out of the post. Then add the jumper to complete the offensive arsenal but not turn into a jump shooting big man. He has good quickness and ball handling to take guys off the dribble for a guy his size as well though.

Lee is using games to practice his jumper. I don't blame him though, with guys like Jeffries and Duhon getting more mins then they should. It doesn't seem like the Knicks care about winning anyway. So why not.

honestly, it doesn't bother me so much that Lee is trying to fit a jumper into his game. what bothers me is the timing of when he takes it. it's as if he takes it every time the team is in the middle of a 10-0 run against us. drives me nuts.
