Over the course of the his career as a manager/coach, he has "discovered" a number of talents...

He plucked Brad Miller and Ron Artest (and Ron Mercer) from Chicago for basically Jalen Rose. Was he involved in the Dale Davis / Jermaine O'Neal deal too? He was also responsible for Toronto grabbing Stoudamire and Camby.

He turned Tinsley and Stoudamire into short term monsters under his leadership, simply by influsing them with confidence. Flashes of brilliance? Well... Tinsley is likely one of those players who was nearly as good as he ever was gonna be coming into the league (he's fairly old). At the same time, after working his arse off last year, he had to deal with the sickness and passing away of his mom.

In any event... he'll probably go and make some trades which makes us go ugh, what was he thinking when we yield even less back (on paper)... but desperate times call for desperate measures.

I think there's still time for the Knicks to turn this ship around. A winning streak could bring us all the way to 2nd seed in the east, though the same could be said for all of the atlantic teams.

Toronto has excellent scouts that provide the GM with the right information. They have drafted very well from the begining even after I.Thomas left. 1998 they were responsible for drafting Jamison and trading for Carter. 1999 they drafted Jonathan bender and 2000 they drafed Morris peterson. This year they drafted Chris Bosch.

I.Thomas is good but he shouldn't get all the credit and as for the Brad Miller Artest trade, that was Walsh and I remember Thomas being a little upset about losing Jalen Rose right after the trade. He never said anything about Jalen after he saw what Brad Miller and Artest could do. Thomas has a lot of work to do and needs time to do it but he really needs to find a good coach for us first.

I will give him credit for McGrady because even if the scouts tell him about Tracy, he is the one that has to go out on a limb for drafting a High School SG.

Soo true. We can do it but so can almost any team in our division

some people were saying Camby was a bust at #2. But there are so many guys who are picked that high and disappear. At least, Camby is in the league, starting and productive.

He is not a bust. he was bad at #2 because he was picked over Shareef, Stephon, Ray Allen and Antoine Walker. He isn't better than those guys. Toronto could've used Shareef, Ray or Antoine.

If Camby managed to stay healthy (he was a fairly healthy guy in college), he could have developed much more than he has.

In the last couple of months of his rookie season, camby was putting up 20-10 numbers. Injuries have truly derailed his career time and time again... and now he's just a quality piece in the puzzle (when healthy) not a superstar.

Of course... the draft that produced him had some duds, in spite of the presence of the enigma Walker, the oft-injured ankles of Ray Allen, the production (but lack of winning) of SAR...

True. Camby would've developed more if he wasn't as injuered but do you think he would be better than Antoine Walker or Shareef at PF? They have a really good scouting staff and they ignored Shareef and Antoine because they loved Camby's height and Athleticism. It wasn't a bust at all. It however could've turned out into much more being the #2 overall pick.

I got that from another Toronto guy I talked to after the knicks got Thomas last night. I don't think he will make all those mistakes though. He will do more to help. What are ppl in Toronto saying about Zeke for Knicks GM?
