Here's the quote:

Donnie Walsh wrote:“Honestly? All the press and all the hoopla about free agency that comes in July is starting to bother me,” Walsh said. “Because there’s an innuendo I don’t care about the players on this team. And that’s simply not true. And this is not a throwaway season, and I never said it was. So no, I don’t like it.”

Is Donnie being serious? I really hope he's not. Because then there's no excuse for their pitiful record. This is a no win situation for the Don. Either he's lying to the NY media and fans. Or he's delusional enough to think that this team can compete or that there's anyone outside the core of young players (Chandler, Danilo, rookies and maybe Lee with Nate) on this team that he should care about.

Either way things aren't looking so hot for the Don right now. Especially after losing to B Jennings.

Donnie wants his cake and to it eat it too.

He wants to be ready for 2010, he wants to rebuild, but he still wants to be competitive.

Let's give him a pass and figure he thought Duhon and Douglas could handle the point well enough.

Who goes into a season without a shooting guard? Its completely insane that we don't have a player who can get to the rim.

I'm a big fan of Chandler. He can do just about anything on the floor. He just doesn't have tha handle to play 2 guard for a team for the whole season, and its made more glaring with our poor PG play.

Not filling the position when he got rid of Q, who wasn't good enough to begin with, sure sends a message that this group of players doesn't matter.

They're going to have to give the keys to Nate when he comes back so we'll at least have a chance in a few games. This is an ugly situation. If we lose by 20 every night its going to be a tough sell to FA's next year.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

This last thing is not a must but nice. It is not working of course but who cares. Just propoganda.

If you're giving him a PG pass with Duhon and Douglas the shouldn't the same logic apply to SG with Nate and Hughes?

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

He is basically the only one on this team with the heart to win some games, but his shot was looking terrible the first few games. Hopefully, he can come back strong. I would like this team to at least match last year's record. At the pace we are on, we won't win 20 games this year.

Really? He sure has a strange idea of being "competitive" and rebuilding what exactly?

Nate has never had trouble with heart, it is the other part of the body beginning with "h" that he is lacking in.

You thin Duhon is bad? AI would have Gallo partying like a madman and pimping hoes. Gallo would shoot 28% from 3 if AI was on this team, bank that.

AI would get Gallo so many more open shot opportunities... if anything Gallo's shooting percentage would go up... please stop making things up, u have no evidence whatsoever that AI would have such a detrimental effect on his teammates... name me 1 young player teammate he's corrupted in this manner during his career... Kyle Korver can't hold a candle to Gallo talent wise & he shot a career high % from beyond the arc in 2 consecutive seasons (05 & 06) when AI was his teammate.

tms come on bro. name 1 young player? how about i name entire franchises corrupted by him. it's well noted that his partying ways, influences, had a great effect on melo and jr smith in denver-- they THEMSELVES noted the difference in team spirit between billups and ai.

this man is a cancer. do you think it's coincidence that NO TEAM OTHER THAN THE GRIZ wanted him this off season?? you're talkin about an almost 30ppg career scorer, and no one wants him?? THERE IS AR EASON.

no one can defend this man, he's a cancer, you don't need to quantify it. his behavior is obvious. where do you work? i know where i work i couldn't pull this ****. i couldn't say, 'hey, if i'm not a worker by nature, i'm a manager, i'll never be a worker'. that's basically waht he said. that's insane, man. insane.

you're making comparisons between a team that had the talent to challenge for a championship but was underachieving to our situation? we don't even have NBA legitimacy at this point... our PG play has been horrible all year & there is not 1 player worth tuning in to watch except for Gallo at this point... i'm not saying i wanna bring AI in here to be our franchise guy for the long haul, i just wanna get an upgrade at the PG position & have someone who will make games worth watching for a change, at least for the rest of this season... AI will bring that, i have no doubt about that in my mind whatsoever... u'r afraid of the negative effect this guy will have on our players as if they're playing so well now... please, get real... if u brought AI in to NY he would perform the hell out of the time he gets out on the floor, believe that... he knows the type of stage he'd be on & the opportunity to pump up his value around the league... u just give him the reigns, sit back & enjoy for the rest of this year, & u play all the young guys around him... that would be fine for me this season while we wait for the free agency blitz to start... this season is a throwaway, i don't care what Donnie Walsh says.

i feel you on that, on the watchable part. hell yes it would be more watchable, i would LOVE to see ai in a nyk uniform. but look at it long term. what, will we sacrifice this season for our future?

it's one thing if AI is a guaranteed role model, a stand up citizen. then it would be no question,b ring him in for a season and let him rub off on us. but he's not. it's no guarantee he'll rub positive, it's actually likely he will rub negative. and given the size of his head now, with memphis, with gay and mayo and all them? imagine what size his head would be on the knicks? with all scrubs?

Why are you arguing with the Blob man ? He thinks the Knicks are winning at least 44 games, I mean comon.
