We beat them twice last year too. I don't think its a coincidence that they don't have a player to attack Lee in the post.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

He did kind of eat OK4 last night.

Team defense looked solid, too.

Hey we've moved up to 26th in the league in Blocks (4.5 per game)!

Let it be known: I believe in the Knicks this year-- deep into the playoffs, I swear to you my brothers...

Perfect on offense. But still the guy other teams go at on defense. He gave up a lot of points down low, imitating a coat hanger.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

You've got to be kidding me.

He was abused like an old washer woman on defense.

He is one of the very worst defensive players I've ever seen (he ranks up there with Eddy Curry in defending the pick and roll -- maybe Eddy was his mentor in this area).

He played very well on offense and rebounded nicely.

He did NOT play a perfect game.

Offensively he was great. He got bullied down low by OK4 though.

Late in the game I thought he was putting in some decent defensive work. At best trying to stay in front of who he was defending. Lee will never be a good defender but if he puts in the work he did on a couple of plays - every play - it's something we can all live with.

He has to do it, though, not just on a handful of plays. All of them. But, I guess it's still an improvement, regardless.

I didn't realize that washer women led such abused lives. We should start a public awareness campaign.

Washers of what, by the way?

I wonder if its just pride that stands in the way of Lee learning to flop like Vlade Divac. He'd be a much more efficient player if he could do that.

David Lee did a great job matching Okafor play for play, bucket for bucket. Certainly Lee's just as valuable as the Okafor, Chandler, Nene, Curry, Dalembert types who got 10m a year.

I with Techno and Briggs on this. If you look at the guys making 10 mill a year he definitely played like he belonged in that ball park. He played great on offense. He moved without the ball like a tall interior Reggie Miller and he finished all his shots. He also added 5 or 6 post moves which have not been a part of his game. He really does need to improve his defense. Without that, I'm not sure he makes as much of an impact as we think

not to say lee did the greatest job defensively, but okafor was really playing well...david lee or not.

i thought he was hitting some very tough shots. it was impressive, and perhaps demonstrated some improvement on his part.

i hear you bip, but okafor made some really nice moves, hitting jumpers. i'm just not so sure if lee's defense had much to do with that.

Have to agree. The dude gets abused on defense nightly. It does not matter who he plays. It is amazing that someone so athletic is so bad on defense. At least Curry has the excuse that he is slow. Lee should match up better. His first problem is that he seems to be allergic to weightlifting. My arms look stronger than Lee's and I don't work out at all. He needs to go on a D. Howard weight training program and build up his upperbody strength. Then he might be able to avoid being knocked back when defending the post.

Trust the Process

You could not stop some of the fall away shots Okafor was making. I was surprised at how efficient he was last night.

That is my big issue with him. He has addressed almost every other weakness in his game, and that midrange J of his has become deadly. I can't see why he has not done even a little more to add some strength.

I used to be a huge Lee supporter, but meh. He played good last night, still is a defensive liability...not at this time worth 10mm.
