Unfortunately, I think that Isiah Thomas is going to be just what Scott Layden was: A puppet. I am watching Mike and the Maddog and they are saying on the 20/20 sports flash that the Knicks are shooting at making the playoffs. The real problem here is Dolan, and I hope Chaney goes next. I hope we can shed contracts and get better plays if not crappy ones and less years on their contracts/ Isaih stated "I want to bring a Championship to NY"...Oh god, just like Ewing, haha.

I get that feeling too for some reason. I was happy at first but now i'm skeptical. All he has to do is hire a good coach and then everyone will have someone to rally behind. The problem with the previous regime was that Dolan is terrible, Layden made dumb moves and Chaney is the dumbest moth**fuker with his sub patterns. We don't have a single palyer on the field that shows and promise and there is no glimmer of hope.

The entire chain was corrupt and there was no one to advocate to end the mess. Now the chain is kinda broken and if Isiah brings in a different coach who is good, we can all get behind the coach and that will in itself clean some of the stink out. I hope Chaney is gone soon.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

IMO Isaiah won't end up as a puppet. Dolan knows he can't continue with biz as usual after all the crap he was apitting when the season started. He's swallowing his own spit now. I think he'll play the background just so he can avoid bad press. Hopefully Isaiah will get things in better order around here.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Dolan doesn't worry me one bit. If you saw that press conference you know what I mean. He has no idea about sports. He's not the one making the decisions. It's going to be all Isiah and Mills. I really want Doc but somehow i find it really hard to believe that Isiah will hire Doc when he really wants to coach.

Not probably, but realistically. That is exactly what the situation is. Dolan called in his marker and jettisoned the fall guy, LayDown. Let's see what happens now that he's played that card.

If Isaiah Thomas has the freedom- which I believe is the case- to make the necessary moves to improve the team, Dolan will actually look good for chopping LayDown. If we win a title with Isaiah at the helm, Dolan would get credit for this move, big time.

Some of you guys are "NUTZ" you rant about firing Layden and it got done. You can thank James Dolan for that regardless of his reasoning. This move wasn't a band aid move this was "OPEN HEART SURGERY" Zeke will do what they allow him to do in NY. That move alone is making people buy tickets for tommorow nights game when Mewell gets dissed a second time by Mutumbo!
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I got the impression from that press conference that Isiah wants to run the team and coach him? Thats a recipe for disaster. He already has a lot of work cut out for him. I think we're never going to see the big name coach like a Doc or Karl now. We'll either keep Chaney or hire one of the assistants but again, anything but Chaney. But I really want Doc!

If you believe that Dolan changed GMs just to pumps 2morrow's game, then it is painfully obvious how shortsighted you are. This move was a long time coming. I think Dolan chopped LayDown so LayDown wouldn't have to fire a head coach for the first time in his career as an exec. There were TONS of reasons to get LayDown the hell outta the GM spot.

I doubt that this will have much of an effect on tomorrow's game. If we lose then ya boy Chaney will be on the curb next to ya boy LayDown.

To sum up the whole GM change, it was a good move. Nuff said.
