pick was traded by isiah, but it being in the lottery is on walsh and d'antoni.

so when the jazz are picking in the top 10, possibly top 5, the shaking of heads should be directed to the d'alsh crew.

imho, knicks should take d'antoni's input completely out of the picture.

let walsh make all deals or hire a young dynamic gm to make the decisions. i think d'antoni is best served as a coach and not involved in the talent acquisition process.

I don't really care about this 2010 lotto pick. We haven't had it for years, so what's the point of killing yourself over not trying to let another get a higher pick. It's over and done with, move on.

The pick is a sunk cost. We aren't getting it back. Play to win, but in all things, do what is best for teh franchise. If you have to take your lumps, take them.

Exactly. As a sunk cost it is best to forget it and move on.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

If Utah doesn't get a top 5 pick, it simply means everyone else moves up. Does it really matter? Probably better for the Knicks if Utah snags the pick. Better to have the pick go out west.

DJ, the pick is on Walsh cuz they decided to clean house and rebuild using youth and capspace.

The pick is gone regardless of record. The need to rebuild is based on Isiah's failure. Isiah's inclusion is in response to Laydens failure. So its really Laydens fault. Layden was installed based on Dolans desire to hire a pansey to dictate his will once he (dolan) kicked out checketts.

Blame it on the rain!

the pick is on Isiah. Its insane to assume Walsh should operate a certain way because another team might or might not pick higher. Walsh's only focus should be Knicks and how best to set them up for success.

first reaction from knicks fans - "i can't believe isiah traded the pick"...but the reality is that the pick didn't have to be a high lottery one. that's my point. isiah traded it...but this team is the one that's going to make it a high one - and this team is walsh's, not isiah's.

yeah, but as already stated, it's a sunk cost. you can't jeopardize the next 4 seasons just to rescue that pick from the lottery. you try to win, but not at the expense of the future.

what's done is done... u can't build a team around trying to make sure you don't end up missing the playoffs because you don't own your lottery pick that year... u gotta focus on the longterm goal.

Isiah dug the hole we're still trying to get out of. This is all on Isiah and if the Jazz get a top 5 pick I would consider it a huge disaster for our franchise. How many times are we going to lose out on great young talent - like wall this year. If lebron doesnt come and we get the 1 pick and cant use it I think there will be riots.

Bottom line: we must win some f'in games this year! I dont care if we sneak in to the playoffs, we have to make it. I'm tired of giving this team a pass. We have a lot of guys playing for contracts and if they cant show enough pride to win some games then I'm probably giving up my season tickets.
