I just took the time to look at Charlie Ward's stats, 2nd season-- look at them compared to FW thus far.

Main stats:
Ward (1995):
62 games
12.7mpg
39.9 FG%
3.9 ppg
1.6 rpg
2.1 apg
1.3 to/g
0.9 spg

Williams (so far):
28 games
12.1mpg
32.4 fg%
1.1 rpg
1.9 apg
1.1 to/g
.4 spg

Looks like Ward, at the same stage of development, was able to put up better numbers.

Of course... that's not necessarily the point here. It's tough to explain how/why Ward was benched early in the season after winning the starting PG spot outright... and why it happened while he was ranked 3rd in the league in assists with over 8 a game.

Chaney's comments about consistency strike me as odd, especially considering how Eisley has been far from consistent, yet he stole the starting job away from Ward without merit and FW has yet to have a chance.

Perhaps this speaks of the complete mediocrity of our PG position or perhaps that of Chaney's stubbornness.

The reason Eiesly gets to start is because he has shown that he is complexly worthless as a backup. He simply cannot handle coming of the bench mentally, at least in Chaney's system. So we moved Ward who at the time was playing the best basketball of his life to backup, where he is really just a 3pt shooter at this point. I wouldn’t read to much into Ward's stats really, he would have fallen off anyways, we all know what Ward is by now, we all had the painful experience of watching him for 10 years. As for trying to understand Chaney, I gave up long ago, he is just a baboon who should not be a head coach, or any coach for that matter. Being a nice guy shouldn’t get you a job when you got no skillz.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Chaney has the worst schemes and substitution patters. He has no idea how to develop an offense. He is on his way out and as long as Lon Kruger or Isiah Thomas don't coach us, we are in good shape. Thomas is an improvement but not what this team needs.

The develpment stats are a little startling. I am going to ignore them and hope that Fwill picks it up after Chaney is fired.
