Rajon Rondo will not sign a new contract with the Celtics, according to agent Bill Duffy. The two sides met to discuss a possible deal recently. Duffy feels as though Rondo should be among the top-five highest paid point guards, but the Celtics don't feel the same way.
"We're not going to do an extension right now," Duffy told Yahoo! Sports. "The conversation has been cordial. We've been talking the last couple of weeks. There is a difference between the perception of him in their eyes and our eyes. With that being said, the focus is on Rajon to have a fantastic season and concentrate on winning a championship."
Assuming the two sides don't reach an agreement by Friday, Rondo will become a restricted free agent at the end of the season.
It seems we would possibly be able to land Rondo if we were to offer him a lot of money. Which Boston does not seem willing to do.
Do yo guys feel he would be worth giving top 5 highest paid PG money. He will be 24 by next off season. He averaged 12pts 5rebs 8ast 2stls on 50percent shooting. Though he has averaged around 17pts 10rebs 10ast 2.5stls on 41percent in last yrs playoffs.
Is he the type of PG that could do damage in MDA's system? There has also been talk about him coming late to games and practice. How he has pissed people off in the Celtics organization which is why they were looking to trade him in the off season.
