They will no longer have morning shootarounds on game days, and practice will start at noon.
Celtics coach Doc Rivers made the decision after getting advice from sleep medicine specialist Dr. Charles A. Czeisler of Harvard Medical School.
"Later practice is all right, whatever Doc wants, man," Kevin Garnett told the Boston Globe. "Ain't my cup of tea. I don't sleep anyway. It's good, you've got to find good in everything, if that means sleep till 8:30 or 9, so be it."

I never thought having shootarounds on a game day was a good idea any way. Players that want to come in, let them come in and shoot around. A NBA schedule is difficult as it is.

It's a misconception that the shootarounds were cancelled outright. They weren't. The teams still have game day shootarounds they simply have them later in the day instead of the morning. I don't know why this has become such a misunderstanding.
