1) Kevin Durant
2) Rudy Gay
3) Ricky Rubio

My logic behind this is they are young stars that can turn into SUPERSTARS and the cost would be cheaper than trying to get LeBron and Amare or Bosh and Wade.

C = LEE
PF = DANILO
SF = GAY
SG = DURANT
PG = RUBIO

Bench is NATE / DOUGLAS / HILL / LANDRY / JEFFERIES

Now if we give

Lee 5yrs @ $50mil / 10 mil per
Nate 3yrs @ $20mil / 6.5 mil per
Rubio will be under the rookie contract
Durant 6yrs @ 78mil / 13 mil per
Gay 5yrs @ 50 mil / 10 per

That is still less then the Scott Layden / Isiah spending sprees of yesteryear !!!

Yes, Chandler would be included in a trade to rid of Curry

Douglas / Hill / Landry / Rubio / Danilo would all still be under rookie contracts.

Durant is going to sign an extension. He's not going anywhere.

Gay is possible and I like his game but I dont think he's a build around player and we need that if your going to break the bank. I think Memphis matches that offer.

The guy I would would keep an eye in is Rondo. He's never going to be a gifted scorer in the league but he's a great passer and is on the verge of being the best defender in league at the position.

In order to get Durant or Gay away from their teams, you would have to overpay them by a lot and it may be possible. I do think it would be possible to get Gay, but it would have to be a sign and trade and we don't have the parts to trade at the moment especially given the Mobley statement by Walsh.

Rubio you'd have to make a trade for. Who's going to Minny for him?

Also, hold on a little bit before you start projecting Landry as a future contributor.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

knicks fans should keep their eye on the 2017/2018 draft class - that one's gonna be stacked.

Kevin Durant is a future Hall of Famer--can't see him leaving any time soon.

I can't see Ricky Rubio getting dealt for anything the Knicks have because of the lashing the Wolves would take in the media.

And if the Knicks pursue Rudy Gay for big bucks I'll give up on the team.

yeah, why does 2011 somehow seem more appealing and likely than 2010 at this point? we need a PG.
