First, this was obviously written before preseason started, or the guy has had his head in the ground for the past 2 weeks. If you mention Larry Hughes as part of this team, you havent been paying attention.
Also, no mention of TD tells me this guy has either seriously underestimated him, or as above, hasnt been watching.
I agree with what he says about Al, Wil, Duhon and Darko. I disagree about Nate because I think he's wrong about the Eddie House comparisons. Nate gives you SO much more the Eddie House ever will.
The guy is flat out wrong in every respect when it comes to David Lee.
Lee is a good power forward who has really flourished in the system. Eventually, he's going to get some kind of a payday because of the stats and the system he's in, though everyone understands those stats are inflated based on the style of play. On a good team, he might be able to start at power forward -- as long as he is your fourth or fifth option -- because he competes hard. And then if he's your backup, you know you have a good team. He's an above-average passer and rebounder -- quite a bit above average considering his size [6-foot-9]. He's an above-average scorer and average as a defender. It's hard to say how effective he'd be with his back to the basket in a more traditional system. He has a winning attitude and he plays with a lot of confidence, but let's be honest: Opponents don't take the Knicks seriously enough to really game-plan to shut down David Lee. He's playing as close to his potential as is humanly possible, and he should get credit for that. But if you're hoping to get much more out of him, good luck, because what you see is probably the most you're going to get.
Hes not an above-average rebounder, hes a great rebounder. Hes easily one of the best finishers in the league, not simply above-average. And hes not an avrage defender, he's below average at best. And anyone who thinks hes playing "as close to his potential as is humanly possible" is doing a terrible job as a scout. Just look at whats hes done with his FT shooting and mid-range game as proof that Lee can get better in any facet of the game he wants to.
And in my opinion, ifyou dont game-plan to stop DLee, he WILL throw 30-20 at your ass. No question.
Dont know what to say about his assesment of Jeffries, he seems to be blathering there.
Overall, not really an opinion I would give much credence to.
Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream things that never were and ask why not?
