The NBA is going to allow 2 steps before calling a travelling call. Wow! Frazier had some strong commemts also in the article."Frazier said. "Those few years when the Knicks were good [the early 1990s] -- that wasn't pretty basketball."

fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

So they are simply codifying what we already knew to be the truth. What this means is that now an average player can get away with taking 2 steps, and star players can take 3-4 steps without a violation.

Lebron will now be able to go about half the court without putting the ball on the floor.

Perhaps the rule should be that a player has to put the ball on the floor once every 5 steps. Dribbling can be very boring to watch you know.

Well I thought it was common knowledge that you can take two steps off the dribble....

Jordan, Ewing Barkley, Malone, Shaq...go down the line. They traveled everytime they got the rock but never was called. Barkley used to dribble and stop to yell and then continue dribbling like it was alright...Ewing used to take 4 steps when he made his cross the lane move so it was all good, lmao.

LOLOLOOLLLLOLL at the Barkley comment. Ewing and Olajawon traveled their arses off. Their battles used to be classic.. but that Barkley comment was hilarious.

That drop step from Ewing was classic, he traveled 50% of the time, got called for it 2% of the time

Actually in Europe they call it Handball... And yes - this game is really boring.

I dunno...seems to me it would be harder to get a charging call. If he can set his feet and you step into him initiating contact it should still be a charge. In order to be fair if he gets two steps then you should be able to move and set as long as he initiates contact. Or is that how it works?

Not as boring as water polo.

But, I degress. I think that, like, everyone should be able to travel anywhere they want.

But the problem is that in rec league, a place where I play basketball that has been modeled after my favorite pro stars, I get called for travels all the time, and i'm always like 'hey man, in the nba it's legit, what gives??' and then i get a funny look, and sometimes a tech.

This is a good rule change, and hopefully just the beginning. After we see how much more exciting the game gets, they can add a third step, then eventually hopefully eliminate the whole boring dribbling thing completely.
