plan-b pairings if lebron doesnt sign with ny-- wade and bosh. with two lawsuits and family drama wade getting out of mia and starting new in new york is an option he might make happen. but the ny tabloids will make it worse for wade? not necessarily. the tabliods didnt make it worse for kidd-- everyone loves a winner. bosh makes for a good pairing for wade, a good balance alah kobe/odom. the plus to getting bosh is, its canada. when a player has a chance to get out for a payday, he takes it. just ask vince carter and tracy mcgrady.

Are Bosh and Wade enough?

Is tanking for two years worth it if you end up with basically what the Hawks are now in terms of talent and chances to win a championship?

Just sayin'...

I wonder if you could get away with giving Rudy Gay and Aldridge close to Max deals for three years instead of giving Bosh and Wade who are clearly fragile players, six year deals.

Probably not, but that would be my preference in the scenario where LeBron doesn't come to NY.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

made me curious about looking at the 2006 draft class RFA available 2010 if they dont sign extensions. aldridge might sign an extension this year but if he doesnt (though it would be wise for his agent to make that happen) aldridge and gay is a good pairing right there. but thats only if brandon roy cant be got-- roy would make tyrus thomas look like kmart. honestly that is a very good class for you to point out jw. opened my eyes-- i see a number of these players holding out on signing extensions. which will open up knicks options.

2006 draft class RFA available 2010
Brandon Roy
Rudy Gay
LaMarcus Aldridge
Andrea Bargnani
Rajon Rondo
Tyrus Thomas
Kyle Lowry
Randy Foye
Marcus Williams
Josh Boone
Renaldo Balkman
Sergio Rodriguez
Ronnie Brewer

Roy signed his extension already and Aldridge is about to get his done as well
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

I would think chances are much higher than that.

article here has the following section in it:
<snip>
NBA FREE AGENCY CLASS OF 2010

Again, we're quoting the Toronto Sun here:

SG Paul Pierce (Boston): Played entire career in Beantown; what about a return to Tinseltown, the Truth's hometown?

PG Steve Nash (Phoenix): Days in desert are numbered; it's either a reunion with D'Antoni or a return to Canada to finish career.

SG Manu Ginobili (San Antonio): despite age and ankle woes, he's very much coveted.

SG Joe Johnson (Atlanta): Can flat-out score; face of the Hawks franchise.

PF Dirk Nowitzki (Dallas): Needs Nash more than cash.

SG Ray Allen (Boston): Any veteran who can shoot the lights out is coveted.

C Tyson Chandler (New Orleans): Would be foolish to leave Chris Paul, but the attraction of big bucks makes people do foolish things.

C Yao Ming (Houston): Hard to tell what he'll do, but he'll have options and a lot of suitors.

SG/SF Tracy McGrady (Houston): Seems to have worn out his welcome in Houston.

SG Michael Redd (Milwaukee): Big scorer in small market who should consider a change.

SF Richard Jefferson (Milwaukee): Versatility makes him a valuable piece on any team.

smart move by roy and very smart if aldridge signs because you just never know what the future entails. this is why dlee should fire his agent cause he not even on that level and his agent had him holding out, finally settling for a one year. so stupid. this is why karl malone hated agents and negotiated his own contracts.

depending on how yao's legs hold out he has a great chance of wearing the orange and blue too just dont know who would be paired with him that would make sense. since half of yao's nba contract is eaten up in taxes from his home country-- boosting his income with ny's commercial contracts would definitely make him think new york.

The article is topical because those guys are free agents in 2010. Olbrannon hasn't posted here for very long but he brings it when he posts.

They're not all 2010 FA's, Chandler is not a 2010 FA

All I'm saying is that the success of this blog depends on the quality of our posts. Its not asking much for a tiny bit of fact checking.
