last time ny had a successful head coach dolan promoted from within and cut the check for van gundy. time to promote from within again and give the nod to starks. he has the temperament for the job, he's been in the knicks family for a long time he's not a outsider so he knows whats needed. hopefully d'toni will be fired by midseason till then let the draft starks movement begin.

alright, that was too harsh. he is a cba scrub, but he's our cba scrub. how the knicks won with him and ewing, i don't know. but don't ever say that ewing had a proper supporting cast. but we all love mr. starks if for nothing else than that dunk on mj. dont' get it twisted, i didn't ean to come down hard on john starks.

Starks did some coaching in the usbl but I do not know how successful he was. It seems like someone with a link to the franchise and its past intense commitment to preperation, conditioning, defense and team could transfer that to todays players but it hasn't been tried yet.
