I was there yesterday with my buddy a Celtics fan in the $10 nosebleeds at the "Rock". I have to say, the energy was better than almost any regular season game at Izod/Continental/Brendan Byrne I'd been too. A 45 min ride from midtown Manhattan via MTA & PATH -- would have been even quicker via NJT. Almost 13,000 folks were in the building. A lot of families and youth groups seemed to be out there and everyone seemed to really appreciate it.

The Nets should be in that arena. It's what YankeesNets were trying to do before they sold it to Ratner. New Jersey could totally re-embrace the team. The mass transit infrastructure couldn't be much better for both New Yorkers and North & Central Jerseyans.

I'm likely going to be at the Knicks-Nets game too. I really hope these games seriously re-ignite the possibility of them relocating to the Rock. After last night, I am totally against the Brooklyn arena, when there is a perfectly fine arena ready with an audience that won't cannibalize the Knicks.

Are they going to use the new Giants Stadium train for the Nets too now?
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

The rock is a nice arena and should be the Nets home. I'm looking forward to seeing the game next wednesday there. How are the $10 seats DrAlphaeus?

i like newark its just too far from nyc. nj just doesnt have the fan base to support the nets. hoboken would be a better location, but the hoboken nets just doesnt have that same ring to it as the brooklyn nets.

coolbeans what's up with your quotes? id on't know what rutgers have, but the newark branch of rutgers is the bootleg branch. you gotta go to nb for the real flavor.

Newark is 15 minutes from lower Manhattan by train or by car assuming there's no traffic. And it's 25 minutes from Midtown. So I don't really know how much closer it could get to NYC. Hoboken has absolutely no space for anything so I can't imagine putting a Professional Sports team in that city.
