Big deal. His shot wasn't falling for the third pre season game.

He can play.

The Knicks have miles to go before they can take the training wheels off a young bunch

Please leave Danilo Gallinari alone for a moment

the biggest problem is that there is absolutely no point guard to help these guys on the court and guide them.

duhon's prepping for his next lapdance and nate is being nate...who on the court can settle the team down and nurture some players? nobody out there can make anybody better...

until there is...guys like chandler and gallo will be moving sideways in their development...

Gallo's shot will find him. He has all the potential to be good but dude probably wont be anywhere as great as Dirk, ever. Plus we all know DJ's boy bargnani is the heir to Dirk . Oh and to answer your question, it didnt take Dirk long at all. His rookie season was the 50 game lockout season. He averaged something like 17 and 7 in his 2nd season.

Knicks need a real point guard to direct the offence, this jacking 3s business can only be bad for Gallo's development. He's taken 19 shots so far in preseason and 12 of those have been 3s. Thats a really bad ratio.

I wonder how misterearl spins the fact that his boy is a soft, low basketball IQ player who never drives the ball and takes crap shots. I'm talking about the "mayor", of course.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

I was sure someone would start a thread about Gallinari. He seems very tentative out there. Even Clyde was saying that he wanted to see Gallinari take more initiative on the offensive end. I am not sure if it is the coach's design or what but i cannot stand it, when Gallinari lines up in the corner or foul line extended and stands there.....and stands there....and stands there. What ever happened to the great Motion offense? It is like his legs are cemented to the ground. He does not move! Is that coaching or is that the player?

When he finally does get the ball when his feet are moving, he looks ok. You can see that he can play, but he seems to lack confidence out there.

GoNYGo - I don't want my point guard attempting a single three point shot. That is s sure sign of giving up on pushing the offense closer to the paint and frustrates big men who battle for position just to receive a pass where they can operate down low. The beauty of a guard like Nate Archibald was that he was always looking to crate offense for others.

Duhon needs to operate more in the paint. Forget the three.

GKFv2 - did you say something?

Not sure what you are talking about...I never mentioned Duhon. Anyway, I agree with you, a PG should only look for his offense when he has to. A PG's job is to get every other player in the flow offensively.

Back to Gallo, here is a quote:

Asked if he needs more touches in the offense, Gallinari said, "My first thought is the team. I don't care how many balls I touch."

First off, besides the sheer comedy of the statement, that is exactly the problem. He is not looking to get involved. He needs to be aggressive!

Dirk played 82 games and was a budding star in year two.

Right now what you see is what you get. Knicks are a 30 win team with 30 win players. Start posting your hoopla when Gallo and Mayor win us a game or two
