As to the question at hand it has nothing to do with the media, the big stage, all that garbage. It has to do with joining a CRAPPY TEAM. When the big names came in the 90s what did they do? Excelled. Why? It was a good team to begin with.
It's pretty simple stuff here folks.... we suck. Our best players are mediocre and borderline starters at best. We might have two of those. Maybe Al and Lee. Beyond that WOW we stink. At least half the team won't be here in 10 months...let's just hope the half that replaces them are actually GOOD PLAYERS - you know, bonafide NBA starters?
Yes, that would be nice.

cos people for some reason think new york is oh so cool, but it's just like any other city, albeit a city with one of the worst nba franchises over the last 10 years.
WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

I think its because Knicks players think that they're actually going to live in NY when they sign, but they end up living in White Plains and they end up being disappointed their whole career.
Yankees players perform because they actually live in Manhattan.

Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I the Layden era teams had a good worth ethic and had pride. The isiah era bought in malcontents that were talented but not good invesments.
Isiah but together a collecton of players who were under achievers that collective environment really is not condusive to winning!
Mets have had mixed success the last 10 years and at least choking the last week of the season is not cool, but they are not the failure we called the knicks!
Yankee baseball has been known to crack some players. Kenny Rodgers is a great example. Pavano was hurt most of the time.
Regarding the knicks, its the starphuch mentality and that just does not work!
