The fans in the states of Ohio and New York will be on pins and needles until LeBron James makes a decision about his future. Does he stay with the Cavs by signing an extension or does he become a free agent and re-sign with the Cavs. He could also look to New York to play for the Knicks or Nets, who hope to relocate to Brooklyn. One New York scribe believes a key to landing LeBron is the play this season of rookie Jordan Hill. Jordan Hill?

Dan Tomasino of the New York Post writes: "If Hill fails, The LeBron Plan could fail with him because David Lee and Nate Robinson are on one-year contracts and Danilo Gallinari, 2008's lottery pick, so far has been a bust. The Knicks need to show James that they have some pieces in place and they aren't the toxic club they were made out to be when several free agents spurned them this past summer."

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Stupid ass clueless writers. When did signing a free agent ever depend on Hill?
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

I want you to explain to me how a rookie is the key to bringing a superstar free agent to NY. That's the case being made here, not the Knicks drafting.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Who in Hill?... And whou is Dan Tomasino?...
The problem is that donkeys are all over the place.
And even bigger problem is that a lot of other donkeys are listening to them...

It's not that L-n won't come here just because Hill will be a bust.

But L-n would be more likely to come here if we had drafted a very promising player to pair him with.

Lebron is already a star here...he comes here to do all his business. What business does he do in Clevland? The mofo might as well be from NYC.

With that said I think Lebron will stay with Clevland. He's just playing games and keeping the star shining on him. It makes sense basketball wise at least right now...in NY the team would have to actually find a way to fit Lebron in. A few guys will have to get traded. The idea that we can sign him and play him anywhere is not cool. Why would he leave Clevland to come here and be put through that???

Say if Lebron does sign with NY...what is the sales pitch??? Knicks gotta hard on for Lee...Harrington wants to stay and should if he continues to produce. Gallo is the prince of the Knicks right now. They want him to succeed liek nobodies business...Chandler is everyones favorite....Darko is a dark horse but you can tell the team is rooting for him to stick....Toney Douglas has futute point guard written all over him.

2009 Knicks???

C Lee
PF Lebron
SF Gallo
SG Chandler
PG Toney Douglas

Nate??? Darko??? Jared??? Harrington???

Can those guys win a championship???

just reporters spreading rhetoric like usual. the more i think about it, the more i think we should go to other options instead of lebron. i am doubting each day about him coming but we still need two stars here and we have a choice the next two years with the contracts that are gone.

That was a pretty bad article. I read it because I like Hill and like to keep up on how he is doing. I used to love the Post's b-ball coverage but they are not even relevant anymore.

I'm not saying I completely agree with the writer but his point is an elite FA likely wants to go to a sitatuion where the pieces are in place. In order for the Knicks to have money to sign an elite UFA, the team will have to renounce Nate and Lee. This means Chandler, Gallo, Hill, and Douglas will need to look good this season.

Obviously a big piece to the equation is dollars too, and the Knciks/New York City will appeal to the mercenaries. But that's part of it. Hopefully we can appeal to the players who care about more than the paycheck though

yey! a second hand source about a typical ridiculous ny post article...
If Hill fails, The LeBron Plan could fail with him because David Lee and Nate Robinson are on one-year contracts and Danilo Gallinari, 2008's lottery pick, so far has been a bust.

what genius insight and use of facts to get a story!...

wow, i'm blown away...i'm sorry...gallo's a bust? but wait, they got one thing right...lee and nate are on 1 year contracts! wow!?

seriously, the post and frank isola use 'COULD' as a news bit to write primarily opinion based speculative pieces tying to pass as fact about as much as clyde frazier rhymes during knick games...

Hill being the key to LeBron signing here was an entertaining read then I see the Gallo is a bust line. I do not know if I should feel bad about Dan Tomasino for being so clueless or for ESPN for hiring such a fool.

If laBron is smart, and he is, he knows that he cannot bring championship to NY alone.
But he can be the ultimate magnet for the trades and FA to NY after he will join the show. Big show. VERY big show.
If he is not in the business to come like final piece but want to get a complete satisfaction of going all the way from start to finish - no place is better designed for him right now that NY Knicks.

After LBJ signs with the Knicks, $18mil will be coming off the payroll. THat's enough for a second max FA or a couple of solid starters. I don't think LBJ will consider The Rooster, The Mayor and the Younglings to be a make or break setup. They are part of the 8-player rotation, yes. But a couple of VERY solid pieces will be added to the mix the second year of LBJ's reign as King of The Garden.

I think it will be very enticing for him, indeed.

Add +1 the the notion that the Post's sports coverage is now irrelevant and pathetic.

I think lee has a handshake deal with the old man and will be made good once our free agents are done. The big guys will get signed first and lebron my guess will have it figured out within two weeks of his recruiting trips.

I also think the amount of media attention is going to be huge so look for a tie in with a product launch. "Lebron" is not just a player but a brand franchise and the amount of attention he is and going to get is worth mega millions! Even if he is set on staying in Cleveland all along he would be a fool to abort such a opportunity to build his name even more!

DLee is such an effective player without the ball I think Lebron if he is serious would almost demand the guy stays. Look Varajo (Sp) does for cleveland and understand Dlee is better.

I think its important that our youth be looking good for any established vet to want to come here. The guys that spurned our offers this year really were using us for leverage and understand in two years they are gone anyway. Kidd wants to win THIS YEAR and GHill wants the same and not move his family. I have no problem with Kidd and Hill not coming here.

I think Darko is also very important and all we need is 10 and 10 with 2 blks per game and he could be just what the MDA game needs. Jordan Hill Still needs two years but thats ok.

Lebron knows he alone would not make us championship contenders right away. 2011 if we desire could also bring in another quality player.

i don't think Hill will hurt chances at LeBron, but he certainly won't help as much as Stephen Curry would have.
