As I said before, he is Bird Lite. The boy just reminds me of Bird from shooting to passing to bball IQ.

Gallo didn't seem strong or explosive. Got to get in better condition. But the guy is one smart player.

The video should work now.
Martin, I agree with you. However, right now the two guys that look out of place is Hughes and Hill. I hope Hughes does not remain a starter over Chandler. BigC's Knick blogs and Knicks

the rooster ready to start i noticed he kept busy on both ends of the court. and his length annoys the hell out of shooters plus he does this classic fiba move of bumping your player to harass saw him do that and i was like classic. its like hand checking of old except you use the whole body and you do it when they least expect it like transitioning from the charity stripe.

Posted by coolbeans: I noticed that too. He has a lot of old school tricks that are just fun to watch. I think he will be hated soon in the league, similar to Ginobli when he first entered the league. |

Gallinari's passing was impressive and his d is better. All in all, the increased mobility he now has coming off the back injury makes him a better all around player - not just a shooter.

Posted by martin:For someone playing the point, his dribble is way too high also. He looks more like a versatile forward who can make his teammates better with some occasional nice passes than like someone who can actually run the offense for 35 mpg. And on that spin move, he picked up his dribble too soon and was off balance. He's lucky a Knick was open on the perimeter. [Edited by - bonn1997 on 10-05-2009 5:25 PM] |

He didn't seem strong or explosive because he is not in season form yet, that will come. As you say, his smarts are top notch and you can't teach that up very much at this point. As far as his dribble, I agree, but that's how he always looks. I remember before we drafted him, thinking "his dribble looks sloppy", but that's his style, it works for him. It's a little bit deceiving, I think, just by the looks of it but I"m sure that he is more than comfortable dribbling the ball. WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

I think some of us need to revisit some of the Gallo highlight videos to see just how he plays when he's fully healthy and in shape. What we're seeing now is not the full Gallo. He will get much better in time as he get's in better shape. The skills and BB IQ tho is what is most important and he's got all that stuff in spades. You have to love his game. When was the last time you saw a combo between two FORWARDS like Lee and Gallo? It's wild cuz there aren't many bigs with the passing skills of Gallo.

Posted by nixluva: Still, it's nice to see him play without pain. Obviously, he's more fluid. How much better he'll be when he gets into basketball shape, we can only conjecture. How much better he'll be when he gets more experience and develops his game, we can only conjecture. What we do know now is that we have a good young player on the way up and I'm very happy to see that. |
