![]() i tend to agree, but but some guys will get a fastball in their ear if they're caught doing that the next time they're up at bat... it's not as flagrant a thing as taking PED's to gain a physical edge over ur competition, but it's still technically cheating, no? does this qualify to be the same as when a pitcher scuffs the ball to get an edge on the movement of his pitch, or using pine tar to gain a better grip? i guess in this case if the other team knows it's going on, they can always change up the signs to keep the other team guessing... anyway, i thought it was an interesting look at the intricasies that go on during games that the average baseball fan doesn't even notice or appreciate.

![]() To me, this is on Laird and Verlander. Laird should know that with a catcher on 2nd base and both teams fighting for a playoff spot that Mauer is going to use every advantage he can. It's up to Laird and Verlander to change up the signals or for Laird to to run out and iron out a pitch sequence verbally with Verlander.

![]() Part of the game as long as they're not using some crazy techonlogy on the field to relay the signs, or to read them. That looked all natural and it is likely that it the whole proccess COULD be 100% natural (thought it might not have been as the initial codes might have been stolen using a/v technology)....but it COULD be all natural, which is cool.
But here's the thing... if this waas a significant enough problem, it doesn't takea nything but a little creativity and mental effort to develop a safer signaling system. The possabilities are endless...i could think of a bunch of unreadable systemes right now, on the spot, off the top of my head. WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

![]() Yup, this is something that a pitcher and catcher can adjust to. For example, a catcher can simply just make his signs out of Mauers view. I was shocked that the catcher didn't run up to Verlander to quickly come up with another plan. I was expecting him to do it on every pitch.
