A lot of you are pretty much upset because the Knicks are losing. Believe me, it's a blessing in disguise. Do not feel upset, because as much as we lose, we will win in the draft. I cannot stress this enough. I'm a big Knick fan, and I love it when they lose...Sounds crazy, right? Well, no, because it's for the better of the team. If we keep on losing then Chaney will be fired (hopefully) and we will get a good player in the draft. We are so over the cap that it will be 5-10 years until we get to a team such as how the Mav's are now, or even Spur's...And we are NOT a playoff team. We will not win any games, and even if we do, we will not get out of the first round....

So Knick fans, just like me, do not get upset when they lose. I love to watch the games. I love to watch Frank Williams play, and to see dunks, and all these fine plays....I'm a Knick fan, I bleed orange and blue. You all do too. We are fine in the direction we are going. Come over to my side and let's keep losing and getting a high pick in the draft. How many times did Dunlevy school the Knicks last night? If I'm not mistaken, he is a rookie....or a second year player...He layed one down on Dikembe, did a Michael jordon-esqe move, and did a good job against the Knicks. And what about Jason Richardson...He's been in the league for three years I believe. Do you see his hops and how athletic he is? We need plays like that. How else will we get players like that...? The draft.

here is the problem

we have drafted very poorly for years. I think that Scott Layden had 4 drafts and has come away with nothing to show for it

we spend enough money that we will likely win 30 something games which will keep us from the Wades Bosh Anthony's et al in most drafts. This previous draft was a very good draft. I think that we were not prepared in totality for this draft--i think they spend to much time seeing if they can trade the pick.
its just one band aid after the other one bad move after the other and its slightly hidden by massive spending.

As a NY fan, there is only 1 REASONABLE move i want made and at this point Ive had enough. FIRE the ENTIRE front office--fire Chaney and let the assitants run the team-put Malone as head coach and go get a team like Magic Johnson Michael Cooper and some consultants i.e superscouts like Jim Calhoun and Jay Bilas.
RIP Crushalot😞

Yes, and we need to keep losing and maybe we will get lucky.

I have been saying the samething for the last two years. But when does it stop. This organization knows nothing about developing rookies, what makes you think if they get a high draft pick they will play him and develop him. They may do what they did year before last years draft and trade the pick away. I'm sorry I have been where you have been and this organiztion will never realize that by not playing the young players they will never develop. You mentioned Richardson and Dunlevey, when they were rookies they got serious run. Do you see any of the KNicks rookies even getting a hint of any run. Frank Williams last year could have gotten run out of his azz and today he would be playing great instead he is a rookie all over again. Lampe and Vranes are rotting on the bench and probably get hemmoroids from sitting there. Vujanic is MIA and may never come to the Knicks. You can get all the rookies in the world but if you don't give them run they are useless. Besides this team can draft another three players and it would be useless because they don't even have roster spots for them.

They can't make decisions and when they do its usually wrong. They can't even fire their coach because he sucks. They can't trade anyone because they put to much value on their players. They had a chance to get Crawford, White athletic players on the team they wait and wait and the players start to breakout and before you know it the players are out of the NYK grasp. This is down right a sad ass organization.

It's true. The front office needs to be flushed outta there. Then we can get some people in who can make a solid draft pick or trade on a consistent basis. Chaney has to go, and be replaced by a coach who can work in unison with the new GM to make draft picks (including grooming of rooks) and trades that address both the needs we have now and that make sense capwise now and down the line.

Losing will bring about the downfall of LayDown and Chaney. We don't have to wish for it, because it's already happening. Just let the chips fall where they may.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I have had separate discussions with BRIGGS and we are on the same. I would no problem with drafting this year. Take a guy like Warrik as SF. Let Thomas walk. Let McDyess walk. Let Ward walk. Let Doleac walk.

Go with this rotation:

pg Eisley, Williams
sg Houston, Vujanic
sf Warrik, Anderson
pf KVH, Sweetney
c Mutumbo, Lampe

You probably win 30 games because KVH, Houston, Deke, Shandon and Eisley are enough to keep you in most games.

Draft again (probably have a pick around 7-8)

Play the year out with a similar line up. Use the MLE on a guys like Rodney White or Demaar Johnson if you think you can catch lightning in a bottle.

Then after 2 years of losing basketball (albeit more exciting to watch) you have a roster with a strong core of young players and an idea how good they wil be. As contracts like Eisley, Spoon, Anderson and KVH enter expiring years you can use the garden $$$ to package a young guy like Vujanic or Sweetney or Warrik with one of those contracts along with a pick for a bonafide star.

OR

just continue to draft and build. By this time you know the type of role players you need to make things work and you can use the MLE for that as well.

The problem is justl ike BRIGGS said. Your trusting Layden as of right now, which is a very bad thing. If you thought rebuilding with Krause was bad Scottie will somehow make this situation worse.

Dolan may have Mills fire Layden, he may have Mills fire Chaney, but he will not replace them with anyone who will make a difference, because Dolan does not have a sports mentality. He doesn't even like sports. He's a weenie, and he'll hire more weenies so they can have a weenie roast together.

No, nothing changes until at least Dolan and his Cablevision cronies are run out of town.

Cablevision purchased the Knicks and Rangers in 1997. Look at how well they've done under this ownership.

Very funny!
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

we can say that losing is great but the sad fact is that we screw that up. we lose but not enough. plus this draft is not like last years where we could get lebron or anthony. our only solution is to have a gm with enough creativity to trade and get good players. case in point: orlando scouted mcgrady and realized he will be a special player. they got him rather cheaply and look at him now. one of the best players in the league. becuase their scouting and gm had vision and evaluate talent. look at memphis. the logo came in and made changes and now they look like a western conference playoff team or an eastern conference favorite if they were in the east. bold moves like trading gooden for miller sparked criticism but they are laughing at orlando now. so the whole problem is management. management who will bring in impact players and not sign bums from other teams becuase they are veterans. that is why i liked grunfeld, even though some of you guys don't. he took risks and it payed off more than not. meanwhile layzie just sits and watches other gm's making deals and further reiterating that he is patient. yeah, patiently getting spanked on the court. it burns me when i watch espn and the commentators laugh at us. all becuase of layzie bungling of a job

See, this is what I love. Knick fans that understand what is going on, unlike the suit's at the Garden and the fans that go to the games. I'm fine watching them on MSG thank you. The evil empire of Dolan must crumble...Chaney needs to go, and I KNOW you all agree with me. ONE DAY, we must all call up WFAN and trash how the Knicks organization is, and maybe that will get the word across. Granted it's happened before where callers called up, but if we call MIKE AND THE MADDOG, maybe we can get our point across better. What day can we all pick to call and trash the Knicks management?

Fishmike...Who's the better play? T-Mac or Houston?

I rest my case. T-MAC is WORTH that $100 million. Houston is not, athough he has shown some signs of greatness once in a while, especially scoring 50-plus against the Lakers last year at the Staples Center.
