Forgive me if this has been posted or published, but I received a call a minute ago saying that Marcus Landry signed to play in training camp with the Knicks. He played in summer league with the Sacramento Kings, and is the brother of Carl Landry with the Rockets. Landry is a 3 for the NBA, and has good range. Tough kid and a solid rebounder. Needs to improve his ball handling. Don't think he has much of a shot at making it personally.

What, no Zach Marbury?
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

He's actually pretty athletic but he is stuck somewhere between 3-4 in a bad way--doesnt rebound like a 4 can't shoot like a 3. He is tough and we need toughness but I don't seem him as skilled enough.

If we end up with a very high 2 or if we trade out for a later 1 one guy I like for this team is Travis Booker from Clemson. While watching the old playoff games I keep seeing something we don't have--a big strong physical player who can do some things. Im not talking about fat Curry Im talking a guy who is in shape plays both ends hard can rebound and score.

Quote from a 29 year old Zach Marbury last January.

I want to be mentioned as one of the top seven point guards in the N.B.A. for the next seven years,” Zach said. “I know that I’ve got the skills to do it. I just feel like if I get the chance to play with those types of players every night, I can be as good or maybe better.”

Yeah I like Booker a lot too. Dude's an animal - like a more electric, above the rim Anthony Mason minus the point-forward skills (except for those unique ballhandling skills & court vision Mase had, Booker looks like he might be a superior player in every other facet of the game). I just don't know if we'll ever have a shot at him; he's probably gone by 20. He's too good. He should get even more touches now without KC Rivers in the mix. I don't know if the Tigers will be more successful this year (they're losing 3 starters but brought in 4 promising freshman I can't wait to see -- Milton Jennings, Noel Johnson, Donte Hill, and Trevor's younger brother Devin - there's already talk comparing Trevor & Devin to the Horace and Harvey Grant brother combo. for Clemson in the mid. 80s for that one season) but I think Booker could put up 20 & 10 with over 2 blocks per contest easily this year. I don't see that big a difference between a guy like Patrick Patterson and Trevor Booker to be honest.

If he's got half the game of his brother this is a very good signing for the end of the bench (which could be said for the majority of the team). I'm with budda though, the roster needs some semblance of balance.

This signing make no sense at all to me. Cap space we will have in 2010, but I'm starting to wonder if we will get the right guy or guys in here.

Not that this guy is gonna do much, but are we gonna say that just cuz Roberson was bad from now on no one we ever take a look at will turn out to be a useful player? Most of these signings are for practice purposes. If someone really shines they may get a shot at sticking. Walsh is pretty smart and I'm sure there's a reason he's taking a look at all these guys.

I'm not saying we shouldn't try and find a diamond in the rough, but roberson turned out to be absolutely use less, in a time he could have earned all sorts of playing time he totally sucked.

This a classic case of pray for the best but expect the worse

It's called a training camp invite. Every team does it.

It's amazing how fans forget every year that late in the summer every team signs as many as eight walk on quality players for summer league or training camp and ends up waiving nearly every single one mid way through preseason.

It's just an odd phenomena that repeats itself every year. It's confusing at best as to why it continues.
