seems to be:

a) not a big trade asset
b) merely a way to save Dolan $

b/c in this economy, where we should have the financial advantage, how can it not yield

-a move to get Steph Curry or Rubio
-a move to dump a fat useless player (Curry) or skinny one (JJLips)
-a move to get anything of value to the team

how is it not a big trade asset? You can offer a team a player, take back even money (about $10mm) and that team saves money.

If they move JJ its going to be for an expiring contract(s) + Mobely's contract.

"seems to be..."

based on what evidence are you making these statements?

because, if you go check the overwhelming majority of it, which i've seen -- and i am gathering as have many well informed folks here -- the the answer is quite to the contrary, mon ami...

Knicks wants to save some cash. Keeping Mobley makes more sense in that regard.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Just cannot believe Minny would've preferred Rubio & Flynn (the latter of which won't play for 2 years) over Flynn & Derozan or Hill PLUS $7.5mm.

Then you don't use the Mobley contract for a trade and after the season starts, each day that goes by, the insured part grows less valuable.

I think it is similar to Raef La Frentz's contract when it was expiring. You heard alot about what an asset it was but it was never moved.

afaik, the season hasn't started yet. ANd the trade deadline is a ways off. There may yet be teams interested in Eddy or JJ, and I would guess Mobley's deal would factor into either of those trades.

more like Terrell Brandon. That was a key piece in the KVH/Sprewell 3 way deal.

The Knicks are going to make a move before the deadline. Trust me. There will be golden opportunities to pick up a solid player once teams start seeing that they teams are not as good as they thought and the luxury tax starts looming. We have a ton of talented players that we can package together. Walsh needs to consolidate our talent. I would look at a guy like Kevin Martin. Sac just drafted a PG, who reality will eventually tell them is a SG. They need depth at PG and SF. I am sure we could work out a deal that is beneficial to both teams.
