Disgusting. Never wanted Lee back and for some reason the team loves his weak, soft ass. was already used to the fact he would be back. And here he is. Nate, I don't really about either way. Lee is one that impacts the game negatively defensively more. At least Robinson can score at will.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

you're wilding man. it's great to have them back on 1-year deals. lee is a very positive factor on the court. he needs to step it up on the D but the guy brings plenty of positives.

Not pissed. Didn't really care to begin with. I knew we wouldn't be good and I was expecting him back anyway at this point. It is what it is. I think I'm going to just put on a porn scene every time Lee is out there playing defense. It will be more of a pleasure to watch.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Does anyone actually have any stats on what Lee's opponents score against him?

How can u say "I knew we wouldn't be good" before we played even one game. Isn't that a tad bit defeatist? How can we know what the team is gonna be based on resigning one guy? Lee isn't perfect but he plays hard and I think he's still improving. Nothing has changed. This is still about the future, but this year can still have meaning. Just remember that we have a bunch of guys playing for a contract. I think that's gonna translate into a big effort from this team.

This is unfair... Porn and Lee... Lee cannot stand the chance. Nate? May be... He has some sexy moves.

Uh, because we weren't good last year with an identical team. Nothing we did in the offseason screams playoffs. So no playoffs = not good. Didn't say they would win 23 games, although with the Knicks recent streak of luck I wouldn't be surprised either. Lee or no Lee, this team will still be in the lower top 10 worst of the NBA, that's for sure. Not defeatist. Just realistic. And that's not a bad thing. We are rebuilding and we are focusing on next summer. I'm not getting excited for basically some expiring journeymen guys and a few good, but unproven, young players on the team. Let's see if they prove me wrong. I hope they do.

If Lee will learn to guard 7-footers and guards he will be NBA star....

Jamaal Magloire was an all-star. So was Big Z. Doesn't mean much to me if Lee makes it.

He can't guard his position. He can't play D in the post or help D. He moves out of the way when a player drives on him and just lets players coast in for layups. There is nothing intimidating or hard-nosed about Lee on the defensive end. Teams go at him because they know he won't try too hard on that side of the ball. He's not a good defender.

If Lee is gonna suck on D, he should at least work to master his offensive game so he can cancel it out. He's average offensively and terrible defensively. Not the greatest combo.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

here they are:
http://www.82games.com/0809/08NYK16.HTM

Lee played 4% of minutes at PF last year
Lee played 66% of the minutes at C last year

At center he outscored, out rebounded, had fewer fouls, fewer TOs and better shooting %s. The only thing he was - in was blocked shots where opposing players blocked 2.2 more than he did.

Over all Lee "outproduced" those he played against on a nightly basis.

Great to have him back for one year.

If you watch the games you know that Lee was one of the worst defenders in the league at any position. That's not anti-anything, its just being real.

He's another Knick who doesn't really have a position on defense.

He's so efficient on offense, that he's still a positive overall. He really needs to be put in position where he's not the last line of defense. Unfortunately, he's usually not playing on the front line with anyone else who can defend.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

totally agree. Whats worse is that there is a lack of effort. That being said Lee does a lot of things very well and is still a good basketball player.

i'm happy to have them back. i'd like to keep them both even if we add a lebron type, at a reasonable cost.

Duhon/Toney
Wilson/Nate
Gallo/Harrington
DLee/Hill
Darko/Jefferies

in case of emergency: Hughes, Curry

would've been nice to add a PG, i heard that Sessions kid was available, but let's roll.

The 10 best sixth men of the decade

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_dont_lie/post/The-10-best-sixth-men-of-the-decade;_ylt=Akc5hh5afNrA1sgcrMGqhty8vLYF?urn=nba,189645

6. David Lee

I'm wary of my own reputation and the fact that Lee is the darling of the per-minute set, but his first three seasons were absolute killers, and the guy just couldn't buy a start.

PERs of 15.4 (average, as a rookie), 20.2 and 18 for Lee in his first three seasons, with just 55 starts combined over that stretch. You want to tell me he has no real moves down low? Fine. That he relies on good passes and garbage pick-ups? Sure. At the end of the night, he's scored efficiently and he's rebounded expertly. Doesn't matter how he does it, he's done it. Thank Jeebus he's starting now.

I just don't know what to feel about Lee other than on a really good team he ought to be a back up player - and only if he has a SUPERSTAR front court mate - should he be a starter. And, finally, given his negatives he should not make more than 7M a year.

What he does on one end he gives up and more on the other end. He is a negative player in my eyes.

I like him, he's fun to watch (half of the time), but we're talking about wanting a winning team here and in that I don't think Lee is a winning player.

Yet, his double doubles will be cited, as if they should be the only criteria for paying a player. Unfortunately it is common that such stats ARE the basis for paying a player.

If we do get Lee on a 1 year deal we will just be re-visiting the same re-signing issues next summer. Lee won't get paid until late in the summer and it won't be what he thinks he is worth because yet again the more valuable free agents will be dealt with first and Lee will be part of the "leftovers" that teams only have so much money to offer said players.

It's just the way it is.

If the guy had a Charles Oakley mid range jumper and at least acceptable defense it wouldn't be an issue to start him at 10M per year. The problem is that his negatives do indeed outweigh his positives but few are willing to accept those facts.
